This is by far the best video I've found for setting up the gimbal in the shortest amount of time. 30 minutes from delivery to using the gimbal. Lots of fine tuning and learning curve still needed of course but this is the video you want to watch if your looking for clear, simple and accurate set up demo.

Thanks for the video. It's important to note that if you use lenses that are heavier and longer that forces the camera back (without counterweights like can be mounted on the Crane 2) causing the camera roll axis arm to hit on the top of the camera eyepiece when attempting to go into sling mode which is the main reason people would buy this gimbal other than portability. Also the design dimensions while small, may make it difficult to store in a camera back laying on its side like the Crane 2 unless you have a thick camera bag. I would like to know if the Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 would balance properly and allow sling mode....if not, lighter primes will have to do.

@mauibuilder12396 жыл бұрын
You have to look at more than payload...lens to camera weigh balance is critical too. I would check with Jason Wong's video...some of the faster zooms like the Sony 16-35 GM get too heavy for smooth footage and balancing. Also, the farther back the camera has to be moved for balancing, the greater chance the roll motor arm will hit on the top of the camera eyepiece preventing sling mode.

A critical difference between the two LAB gimbals, is that the WEEBILL oddly neglects to let you adjust the X-axis (i.e., left-to-right) at the important arm joint rather than just at the camera baseplate. Whereas, the CRANE LAB (and all other CRANEs) let you adjust the X-axis by loosening a thumbscrew, then sliding the whole arm left-and-right until you balance correctly. Because of the WEEBILL's inability to balance the X-axis fully, it appears to be totally incompatible (even after using a base plate extender, if necessary) with the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K's wide berth, just to cite one example.
@chungdha6 жыл бұрын
That is only crazy camera its not compatible with but almost all dslr and mirrorless works, just BMPCC4k is only one that needs to add a counterweight clamp to work.
@focuspulling6 жыл бұрын
I think you're overlooking what I mentioned in detail; a counterweight would not help because the adjustment needs to occur critically at the arm joint rather than at the base plate. The point isn't whether the WEEBILL works with "almost all" cameras, but rather, solid information about how it doesn't work with some cameras -- unless you're promoting Zhiyun with bias (and I won't assume that you necessarily are).
@chungdha6 жыл бұрын
@@focuspulling Honestly testing most setups and cams only camera that got an issue is the new BMPCC4k as the rediculas wide shape of the camera, but max size dslr that works are 5d4 with 24-70mm f2.8 which isnt that light of a setup, however will have limited tilt and cant go into underslung due to the heavy lens the camera sits far back, but with 5d4 with lighter lenses wont be an issue. 1dxii is too much. However the weebill can handle 3kg max weight they dont really advertise it works with all BMPCC4k and mainly aimed more for vloggers and travelers and mainly aimed for entry level dslr user and most mirrorless users, I have tested the weebill with the newest EOSR and Nikon Z7 and both also works. Even ok NX1 works. BMPCC4k just odd one out due to the odd wide shape and be better off on the Crane 2. The weebill sits under the Crane 2 and more replacing the Crane m up to the Crane plus area and not the Crane 2.
