Doesn't mean they are a narcassist full blown but they can have a lot of narcassistic traits and you see the red flags, the key is how the break up happens, if you are in a relationship with someone who is normal the break up will be amicable in most circumstances, it's nothing compared to what a break up with a narc is, the red flags are in what they say, they can't help it when they let the mask slip, they will say the most brutal things you can imagine and that's the tell tale sign because the things they say a normal person wouldn't, their excuse for this is this, it just come out of my mouth, but let's be honest nothing so brutal just comes out it's always in their minds and they are always thinking what they really say, I've been through this and am going through this right now, another thing I noticed is this, they will hold you to a much higher standard than anyone else, they all get a pass on things that are far worse than anything you have done but are giving a pass

In my case, I knew about narcissism, but I didn’t know there was a subcategory called covert narcissism. I left the toxic relationship and he worked on me for months to try get me back. I had started counseling immediately after his discard and I finally told him I’d give him ONE chance for us to be together again. I told him, I’m in counseling and will stay with my counselor, you will get your own counselor, and we will get a joint one. We both have to be 100% committed to our individual and joint counselors and go EVERY SINGLE WEEK. He agreed. During the months of counseling, my counselor was pointing out his comments and behaviors, and labeled them for what they were. The lightbulb went off in my head and I asked for more info about how he could be a narc when he isn’t explosive and physically violent. She told me about covert narcissism and to research it. I was floored. I went to my next session, discussed with the counselor, then went to the next joint session and baldly labeled his behaviors. The joint counselor looked relieved and encouraged me to continue doing what I was doing. He told my ex what he had been saying all along-keep going to your individual counselor and Lee working on learning to recognize and appropriately express your emotions and take responsibility for them (and more). After that session, I completely withdrew, removed myself from any/all associations with him, and it’s been almost 3 years. I know from others and one direct hoover attempt, he would try suck me in and output me through the toxic, crazy meat grinder again. Never gonna happen. ZERO CONTACT FOREVER!

I was so happy for a while with him & then it was abusive, financial, emotional & nearly physical. He kept threatening to unalive himself all the time, nearly every day to me if he didn't get his own way. I was so mind f**ked & heartbroken, I had to be nasty to him for him to finish it with me as I had tried to get away multiple times from him but he kept on & on with me & no let up. I went no contact after the last texts & I feel so much better now. I still feel hurt emotionally & the trauma bond was really bad at first but it does get better over time. I still want him to contact me at the moment but as time goes by, I'm starting to feel that I don't ever want to speak or see him ever again. like you say, Am I going to allow him back into my life to do worse this time! 2 chances he's had with me, I shouldn't allow him to tell me he doesn't want me again! Im such a fool.

Exactly my story, this narcissist would have no answer used me for last 6 yrs until he is settled in his life whether its his job, financial and other ways but when I started asking him questions about commitment and marriage he denied saying that he never was attached to me and never felt love with me and never had any relationship with me as if I was fool not to understand what a relationship and general friendship means. After he moved with a different girl he cheated on me and he completely ignored me as the new supply was there , he showed me hate abuse physical and ignored me in a way which I never even can thought after all what I had done for him whereas this new girl just came into his life just 6 days before, he started harassing me by blocking and unblocking me and and will switch off his phone when he is with this new girl and all of a sudden I saw myself begging him to talk to me and that was it. With the support of my friends I finally took courage and blocked him from everywhere and Im still shocked with whatever I have gone through as I never knew these kind of personalities even exist as I feel he wasnt human as all. He showed me such a hate which I never deserved. I still feel i never was given answers but i feel better now, feel pity about this new girl as I tried explaining her that be careful but this girl blocked me . She is going to go through the same which Im happy about as she never listened to me

When my ex came back after 6 months of no contact she said we just took a break. I did not know about NPD at that time, I knew she had issues because of they way she left, she had gaslighted me but I was still thinking about her. So yeah I took her back and this time I was loved and sex bombed thought I was on cloud 9 then after a wonderful vacation to Mexico we get home a week later she admits she slept with someone the discard lasted 6 more weeks. I was crushed.I'm in therapy and taking care of myself but I keeps wondering if she will come back again. No I will not take her back but the whole idea of being a person who can hurt someone and come back and pretend it was nothing is so scary to me.

This vid is 100% accurate. My ex has a new victim. I feel bad for him as I see what he is doing for her. He has 4 kids of his own (out of town) and does the driving for her and looks after her dog and works from her house to accomplish this. Poor guy. He has has it worse than I did. Edit: Great vid. I am still in the loop with our shared kids. She relies on EVERYONE to make her life work. I do everything myself and ask nothing from anyone. No closure, no answers. She just found the next victim.

Yes I can see this with my ex. He hovered me 6 months after I went no contact. Showed up at my house acting all sad because he hadn’t heard from me. I didn’t take the bait as I had become well versed on narcissism. He was already involved with the woman he cheated on me with, but he was still denying it. He also keeps in touch with his ex wife who cheated on him with several men and his son’s mother who was his high school sweetheart. I won’t be a side piece ever! I continue to block him.

Glad I came across this. If you're attentive to how people describe traumatic situations, or even pleasant ones that usually involve a lot of compassion/love and investment; they will make it about themselves, they lack understanding of the nuances of emotional connection. Everything seems so hallow in their descriptions, so it's pretending. People who have been through life, they understand how a healthy person with actual capabilities for humanity, will react in certain situations.

Their attachment style and lack of honor, loyalty, integrity, morals, ethics, consideration, etc...which are all things very important to maintaining healthy relationships.. is why they cannot keep friends or family. My wife is BPD with high narcissism. Even her kids hate her because of how she has used them and betrayed their trust so many times. When your even your own kids don't like you and that doesn't make you rethink your life...there is something really wrong with you.

Wow its all starting to make sense.. she'll leave for months at a time and I wont get to see my daughter. This time she left because she needed her freedom and space after creating a family together. First it was a little space that she wanted until it got to the point I could physically feel that something wasnt right, I asked if everything between us was ok and it got turned round onto me saying I'm always quizzing her and her and my daughter deserve better.. I was there for her everyday for 4years and begged and cried for her to stay a number of times. Its becoming clear to me now that this is my opportunity to heal my trauma and unhealthy attachment styles. As much as I miss her every second of the day. I'm done with all the confusion as to why I'm not good enough. I feel worthless because of how I've been discarded. Never going to put myself in this situation again 🥺

They only want to detach if it affects you. Listen If you move on and are not affected they are offended. They are not interested in who is interested in them bc they are trying to identify them.Find out who they are. They are simultaneously annoyed someone wants to know AND paranoid someone exist who knows and doesn't want them around bc they might and will undermine thier validation. So they seek control of everyone that knows and is not under thier control or thinks the way they do to get on thier team. Recognizing it is like wetting toilet paper.Making them useless.

It came out of nowhere Over the phone while he was on vacation. I was always looking for an answer. He told me he didn't feel the chemistry anymore. I was so confused. I now realize it wasn't me, it was him. He has moved on to his next victim. It doesn't seem to last more than a year. I wish I could warn her, so she will not endure what I went through. He has a supply of people that fo feed his ego. His ex and her husband live upstairs in his house. That is messed up. I dodged a bullet. It was a year of my time and not longer.
