Every little girl in the early 1960s wanted a ballerina cake topper! I was just a baby yet my mom re used those glass figurines with the actual tulle fabric as the ballet skirt year after year. Suzanne farrell was ....the Beatles of ballet. Allllll four of them 😂

I auditioned for her school a couple times back in the day. I remember when she was teaching the class, she would stand against the mirror and look up to the sky; and mutter to herself. It almost looked like she was talking to someone in heaven, maybe she was channeling something. Anyway, when she would teach the combinations, she would say, "apple orange, orange, apple, apple, apple," as she clapped her hands together. I'll never forget that. It was quite a unique way she would show the steps.
