Spurgeon said "He who never quotes will never be quoted. He who never reads will never be read. He who uses not the brains of others hath no brains of his own." He was right as usual. I personally think of commentaries as sort of a "supplement". They're not a substitute for my own studies and what God's Spirit reveals through that but they serve as an enhancement or even an inspiration to see a deeper aspect or perspective than I initially had. Iron sharpens iron.

These are so informative, I went to Rod Parsley's bible college and did not learn these things. Thank you very much. These steps also help me to discern if preachers on tv are on point or way off in left field.
