I did 6K Pro with Smallrig cage and Moza Air 2S after several trials, installing IFocus as well. Cage gives you possiblty to screw the camera far to the left on the baseplate.
@ibrahimabazid33043 жыл бұрын
So as far as I understand from the video, you can balance the bmpcc 6k with the sigma 18-35 on a ronin s without any additional add ons or any parts needed. Just the camera, the lens and the gimbal. Am I right?
@GimbleProductions3 жыл бұрын
Correct - though it can be tricky. Sadly this means slight additional weights can be tricky, like a T5 ssd. Thats why I would shoot using an SD card. Not the most ideal, but its still possible. For my purposes, I don't typically use my gimbal much anyway unless its for a specific shot
@dennypilot9856 Жыл бұрын
And I assume you don't need to pull focus at all? Also have you tried powering the camera from the ronin or installing NPF plate onto a handle?
@joshdiditt Жыл бұрын
So how do you slide the camera back to balance that axis if youre already moving the camera all the way to the right?
@GimbleProductions Жыл бұрын
The camera doesn't move, but the arms and plates do :) - you can still move the camera left and right if need be
@impaktmedia5214 Жыл бұрын
My ronin is won't slide all the way to the right??? Not because its hitting but the base doesn't slide past a certain point??
@GimbleProductions Жыл бұрын
On the actual gimbal itself, I think that’s what the design of it limits itself to - even I can’t slide it all the way, even though there are a few visual increments that makes you think you can slide
@impaktmedia5214 Жыл бұрын
@@GimbleProductions thanks mate, I wasn’t sure if some could slide over to the markings on the plate. I’ve played with mine for hours to get it right but can’t. It’s either to heavy left or too heavy rear, I can’t both at the same time. Baffles me watching you did with ease. I’ve tried all 3 different plates I have also.

Do you think this could work for the DJI RS3 (Non Pro) version? I think it's smaller than this old Ronin S.
@GimbleProductions7 ай бұрын
I would imagine so! RS3 has better strength in the motors too, and would mount using arca so it wouldn’t need my mounting steps to get on the gimbal
@ajrc19877 ай бұрын
@@GimbleProductions Yes, Im just worried about the size of the gimbal as this seems to be bigger so you can take the camera farther back. Maybe it gets stuck in the RS3 non pro one. The pro one is just too big for my use.

Thanks for the video. Does the setup leave room for the the screen to articulate?
@GimbleProductions3 жыл бұрын
Watch the part when I show the camera why I mount it so far back, there is a bit of room between the camera and rear motor for some slight articulation, but not a lot. Maybe a shorter lens option may give you some extra room

I don't understand why the tilt axis works you have to adjust it forward or back for proper balance
@chriswambraw3 жыл бұрын
Wonderful! However, I’m struggling with the Canon 16-35 f.2 ii. Do I really need to buy the Sigma, which is a few hundred grams heavier and those grams are what makes or breaks, or is there a tweak around it? It seems the roll becomes the issue because of the need to lock the camera a few mm further forward making it slightly more front heavy, then because I’m unable to balance it enough to the right, it ends being too heavy on the left.

Good point. I did try different zoom ranges, micro adjustments were required
@bobuk57223 жыл бұрын
Hi, if only micro adjustments are required it might be wort trying setting the zoom to mid point for balancing and then let the gimbal motors deal with the slight shifts in CofG as the zoom is used. Sadly I don't have the kit to try it myself! BobUK
@crosbyt123ify3 жыл бұрын
Not really. It is a parfocal lens, which means the zoom is housed inside the camera. I have the same lens, but i use the bmpcc4k with a speedbooster. You might need to auto tune it however, but theres no need to change it.

Tough to say, it is quite a cumbersome camera and lens setup. I think any extra weight would be pushing it, but I’ve yet to try when new cages are released for the camera . I’m hoping to be able to mount an SSD to this configuration to record

Is it possible to use ronin s with bmpcc 6k pro with the extra battery grip?
@GimbleProductions3 жыл бұрын
This configuration only works thanks to the far back placement - because the camera is so WIDE, it won’t fit regularly on the gimbal. Maybe there will be a special mounting plate for it, but as it stands, it is very difficult to balance this cam, and more height makes it even MORE difficult
