And also, using seran wrap won’t necessarily cause the lightener to heat up faster but by keeping the lightener wet it will process more evenly and less likely to get bleeding onto other sections. If the lightener dries out too quickly you will end up with uneven orange tones

They don't want to trap heat causing the developer to lighten faster which damages the hair. He said that in the video.

Her questions make me sick but are so telling of how black hair is considered a dangerous jungle to the hair industry. It will become mandatory to know Black hair. I respect him for giving relaxed answers to her shady ass questions. “This is absolutely mesmerizing” mesmerizing to pit a few hilights on curly hair? HORRENDOUS STATEMENT.
I'm not sure which cosmetology school you attended, but the Jean Madeline Aveda institute in Philly taught all hair types. 99% of my clients were black. I do agree that it's kind of hard to find many ethnic hair tutorials on KZbin, but I don't think this interview was out of line, just boring.

I agree her comments seemed like microagression that unless you are used to hearing, will go over your head. He handled them so well too! I went to find him on IG.

Why is this video labelled balayage when its not...
@Somers188292 жыл бұрын
Balayage means “to sweep”, hand-painted highlights are what he’s doing. Deva (specifically Brazilian cofounder Denis DeSilva) named this technique for Devachan salon “Pintura” highlights (Portuguese for painting). It’s still a balayage.

“What is Balayage? Balayage is a French word that means “to sweep.” In this hair color technique, highlights are hand-painted or “swept” on the surface of random sections of hair. Dye or lightener is usually painted on, starting midshaft and becoming denser as it moves down the section of hair to the ends” Yes it is, they are using the balayage technique. There are many different ways to balayage. You learning today 😊

She is sooo annoying while he is trying to work. She had good questions, but they were distracting from the work we were watching.

I think it's his monotone, he either doesn't really like his job, or he doesn't care to be interviewed. I wish they showed the end result.
