I’m a park ranger and actually came across two bald eagles on the forest floor still locked together. Luckily they both were alive and but they didn’t detach and fly away for about another 10 minutes. One of the coolest things I’ve ever seen in person.

The first time I witnessed a Red Tailed Hawk doing a mating call, I thought that it sounded just like a bald eagle. Turns out, I was misled. One of the local bluejays does a rather realistic red tailed hawk impression to scare other birds from our bird feeder. Real red tailed hawks only make their mating call during their mating season. ive actually watched this happen! theres a bald eagle nest in the far corner of my property so i get to bear witness to all of these amazing things. let me tell u tho. they are SOOO LOUD when they're doing this. and so many feathers fall out! (i live in alaska btw)

@@aleejjj man come visit alaska! bald eagles are a regular nuisance up here. the contiguous states have pigeons for nuisance birds. we have eagles. they literally dumpster dive en-masse

I used to work at a Zoo, and they had a mated pair of bald eagles that would actually hold talons like that. The keepers found it cute and left them to it. Also, as an aside, the Bald eagle sound you hear in TV and movies isnt actually an eagle, it's a Red-tailed hawk! :)

I have bald eagles living next door to me and the first time I heard their screeching zooming around at night it scared the crap out of me! Didn’t know what the heck it was… ate the neighbor’s chickens. Thanks dumb movies.😅
