no they changed the location for the math machine so you cant go behind it, that doesnt mean you cant use chalk smoke near it, it makes no sense right

Once he was at the Math machine he was considered inside the chalk dust and when a character is inside dust they can see other characters (including the player) in the dust. You'd have to use the chalk eraser in a spot that Baldi isn't checking.
