Love alert. Each one of my builds uses it. Gives the most advantages in a fight out of all the perks. Burst damage, set up, preventions. It's soooo useful. To me there is nothing worse then 15 enemies going before you and taking out important allies before they have a chance to move.
@JasonDunna5 ай бұрын
With how much burst damage you can do in Baldur’s Gate 3 it’s pretty much essential! A sorcerer and a crowd control (Druid or bard) both with Alert can win encounters turn 1. Initiative is one of the few stats a Druid can take into wildshape too!

But if your attacks miss on the first round doesn’t it kind of negate the point of choosing it? Especially on characters with high dex, it seems like taking sharpshooter for a ranged build or even just an ASI seems better

alert is definetely a go-to feat for honor mode. That's the first feat I'm getting for every party member on hm. In my experience, it alone will make you move first with shared party initiative in 90% of encounters. If someone has low dexterity, like paladin f.e, +3 initiative bow or shield can help. Used shield for my second sorcerer who was disconnected from shared initiative by some enemies and it fixed that issue entirely (because initiative is rolled on d4)

@@JasonDunna i prefer 11 sorcerer / 1 fiend warlock (for extended command). And stupidly hard hitting scorching rays. Like, 2d6 + charisma modifier + proficiency modifier + 1d8 from spellmight + 2 radiant from ring + lighting charges + radiant orb buildup + reverberation buildup + sometimes heat. This thing alone killed everyone in viconia room in 2 turns (surprised). Because you can do 4 scorching rays per turn and with arcane battery that's 26 individual rays. Also hat of fire acuity with extended command gives CC up to 6 targets with 100% chance (after one ray) for 2 turns (extended metamagic). Poor ansur died in 2 turns, cazador didn't survive even half the turn in honor mode. The rest of a party: tempest cleric / sorcerer shadowheart who was responsible for twin hasting herself and fire sorcerer before combat and in combat - making everyone wet (sh does that with advantage) and chain lighting. Fighter laezel and paladin karlach. But to be fair laezel/karlach most of the time didn't even have to do anything (except easy fights were i didn't spend spell slots). Honor mode was easier than first playthrough on balanced.

Great Weapon Master also has the second effect where on a crit or a Kill, you're able to use your bonus action to make an extra attack. I've gotten a decent amount of value from that on characters who don't always need their bonus action like some barbarians.

I only recently started playing, so I don't know how much has changed regarding the Charger feat, but it's absolutely S tier in terms of fun for me. - The feel is "meaty", quite enjoy that - The shove charge can push targets that would normally be too heavy, like with repelling blast. Especially appreciated early game against the owlbear mate. - As you do not have to target a creature directly and can "drive-by" them, you do not have to stay in melee range AND can damage targets under the Sanctuary effect! - This drive-by also opens up an easy way into the enemy backline, while simultaneously finishing off a target on the way. - Having dash, disengage + Shove/+5dmg in one package is quite versatile

Just did four videos on all the BG3 feats myself, and I gotta say, I really like the justifications you put into many of your choices. Not saying I always agree, but it's awesome that your perspective is so much different. I do admit that many (particularly non-Honour) feats are, sadly, too costly to bother with over multiclass options, but I tend toward class purity, so my "capstone" feat slots can usually fit another utility feat that many of the most powerful builds don't need. BG3 is quite easy, so I mix and match :)
@JasonDunna4 ай бұрын
Great input I agree that most times multi classing is much better. Like a single level of Tempest Cleric gives you heavy armor and a lightning reaction , or war cleric gives heavy armor and bonus action attacks, both are better than a 3rd or 4th feat I think

I think Actor is slept on so hard. Yes, you can use the Hag's Hair for the +1 CHA, but you can stack both. With Birthright, Mirror, Hair, Actor, you can hit 24 CHA, so you don't actually need to take +2 CHA ASI. Also, the double Proficiency Bonus to Deception and Performance (you said Persuasion in the video, but it's actually Performance) is a bit misleading. Mechanically, it's like getting Expertise in those two skills, even if you did not pick them as your skills. It allows you to move your actual skill points elsewhere.

I think you didn’t mention the most important part as to why Sharpshooter is S tier compared to GWM : - Fighting style Archery gives +2 to Attack roll which mitigate the -5 even when taking it lvl4 - Arrow of many target multiply the +10 dmg, and is way easier to use than some melee AoE attack - Since ranged attack are always piercing, you can abuse Bhaalist Armor to double the dmg to +20 - Only ranged Flourish from Sword Bard can attack multiple times the same target, multiplying by 2 your on-hit like Sharpshooter

Everyone keeps saying polearm master is bugged...in what way, they never say?
@CheekSoda5 ай бұрын
There are several bugs with Polearm Master (PAM). The Bonus Action attack from PAM does not benefit from some damage on hit effects, such as GWM's +10 damage and the +1d6 from Hunter's Mark. This Bonus Action attack does 1d4 + STR modifier damage if you are rolling your Attack roll using STR. However, if you are using a different stat for your Attack roll (e.g. PotB using CHA modifier for Attack and Damage rolls), then the attack's damage becomes 1d4 + DEX modifier and not the modifier of the stat used to roll the Attack roll. Finally, the Opportunity Attack that PAM gives you when enemies enter your range is bugged - on rare occassions, the enemy gets to do the Opportunity Attack on you, when it should be you doing the Opportunity Attack on the enemy.

Mostly agree with the list but all of the Magic Initiate feats should be in F tier. The spells you get from this feat can be cast ONCE per long rest, that's pitiful nor can they be upcast. You mention that Warlock is top of these because of eldritch blast, but the feat 'Spell sniper' gives you any cantrip while offering extra benefits. Almost always better to just dip a level into a give class e.g. cleric/sorc than take this feat.
@JasonDunna5 ай бұрын
I agree with your points . I know some people use the magic initiate in their builds but spell sniper is better. Even then, dipping a single level into other classes is WAY better. There’s only a few builds that rely on multiple feats, and most times the armor proficiency and other level 1 benefits is better. Cleric is so good giving create water, healing word (downed allies) heavy armor and bonus action attacks at level 1
