I would’ve preferred Eilestraee. When I played Cleric/Paladin, my head canon was that, as the Goddess of Freedom, she directly intervened in order to help my Durge (who is a pasty white human male) escape Bhaal. Also, it made that moment with Phalar Aluve much more enjoyable. Lastly, Bahamut should’ve been an option, too. Same for Sune, Goddess of Love.

My Urge begged forgiveness from Kelimvor, my headcanon is no matter how much he repented and begged for any aid, Kelimvor felt pitty for Ivan, but couldn't do much as Bhaal's grasp is too strong. All he could do, was give him the tools needed to fight back :0

My seldarine drow resist!durge (my HC is that she was Lolth-sworn before her brain got scrambled), upon reaching the underdark decided to become a cleric of Eilistraee in an attempt to try to control and overcome her violent nature (she doesn't know yet she's a bhaalspawn). Poor girl is trying so hard to believe in her new chosen god, but can't help to feel like a fraud who's just lying to herself about her devotion to Eilistraee.

I love being a durge. Mine was a celeric to seluna and became a god with Gale 😂 so I destroyed fathers temple and gave him the middle duck and became my own goddess 😅

Yep, during the epilogue party you also get the option to tell God!Gale "hey can you destroy Bhaal if you passed his domain on your way back?" if you're durge, lol

Bit of a hot take but I usually prefer my playable characters in rpgs to have a bit of backstory like the chosen one from fallout 2, the courier from fallout new vegas, the nameless one from planescape torment, and durge in this game, I'm not a fan of the blank slate character who feels like they barely exist in the world .

fun fact: According to datamined files Durge was supposed to be the default Tav but a non-Durge custom character was added to be more friendly to people creating their OC's in game without being forced to make them a Bhallspawn

durge fixed my biggest critique of rpgs as of late. What I mean is that the playable character in a lot of recent games is just a bystander and has no real stake in the story whereas durge is well durge, just immaculate.

I always think of this that way: Shadowheart may be technically a Selunite, as in Selune is now her source of power, but the decades of sharran indoctrination still weight down on her. So she can not acknowledge her new goddess... yet.

Kind of along the lines of Shadowheart saying “Selune gives me power but I’m still figuring out who I am; and I won’t devote myself to another god until I’ve worked this out”. And even then I think she says she might still decide not to devote herself to a new god because she now has the freedom to make that choice

Custom Characters have no bearing on the story like the Dark urge, like the one player you made a character for so they can join your dnd campaign. Play a Bard Tav, you'll be there to bare witness to the NPC's stories anyway. Just play Dark Urge and choose to resist, embrace, or play the middle ground where you indulge in certain scenarios. I'm kinda bummed that no other deity really matters as far as your choice, but hey, this game is ridiculously massive.

there is 5 statue in Tabernacle, Selune, Mystra, Helm, Tyr and the Conduit shrine (thats for every other deity), as you can see i tried to pray at the "many god" statue at first but your Father, Bhaal blocks that so i just march over to the statue of Selune and pray there, which Bhaal can't block
