Baldur's Gate 3 Build: INSANE Cleric/Sorcerer Fire Build That You Should Try! (Multiclass Guide)

This Baldur's Gate 3 build guide will show you a fire build I have been using and it's very powerful and fun. We will be using the Cleric class then doing a multiclass into Sorcerer then back to there Cleric.
I will show you all the spells you need for this from Level 1-12 and I will show you how to use this BG3 class. I will even show you the gear you need to maximise the same from this class.

Couple things: 1. Healing word is superior to cure wounds in every way. It’s a bonus action, can be used to pick up downed team mates and still attack in the same turn, and has a range of 18m. Cure wounds would require you to be in melee range, which isn’t ideal from looking at your stat spread and build, which leans more toward the caster role. 2. Pre casting shield of faith on this build is counterproductive. It lasts until long rest but it’s a concentration spell and situational. If your Allies are near you, it’s better to use Bless and buff everyone, while if everyone is spread out it’s better to buff your tank with the shield. Still, the spell doesn’t really have a place here because flame sphere is ALSO a concentration spell. 3. I’m not sure if taking draconic bloodline means you get the benefits of the 6th level class feature at CHARACTER LEVEL and not CLASS LEVEL. I need to do further testing. But this dip into sorcerer doesn’t make any sense. The lv 6th class feature adds your charisma modifier to the damage of the fire spells…your charisma is set to 8. This does nothing for us. 4. Sorcerer has no synergy with cleric. Any spell from the sorcerer spell list, with the exception of magic missile, will hit nothing because charisma is set to 8. Draconic is also pretty useless because we don’t need extra armor class. We can use medium armor. 5. Putting points in intelligence just to have a very small chance to hit with a firebolt that will probably miss anyway is crazy. As a custom character you can pick a better racial cantrip that doesn’t scale off intelligence. All the damage ones do.

@@VikingsNeverDie if you want a fire centric build, you’re better off going draconic sorcerer. You don’t even need to multiclass it either. With 20 charisma, your fire spells will do +5 dmg every time which is great, plus meta magic will give you much more fire damage. There’s also a robe in act 2 that will make your firebolt cantrips hit like a truck, but it’s clothing and not medium armor. If you insist on going cleric and you want to focus on being a caster, ignore the firebolt from the racial bonus cantrip. You can use “Produce Flame” from the Cleric cantrip list. It serves as a light source, scales with character level, AND scales off of wisdom. So at lv 1, 1d8, lv 5 2d8 and lv 10 3d8.

@@VikingsNeverDie and if you want to be safe and more versatile, just go Evocation wizard. Plenty of fire spells that Clerics get anyway (Scorching Ray, Fire Ball, Wall of Fire, etc) and it’s more forgiving because your area spells can’t hurt allies if they are evocation spells. The cherry on top is at lv 10, where you can add your intelligence modifier to the dmg of your evocation spells, similar to the lv 6 sorcerer feature.

I use warlock with everburn blade for early levels, with combination of weapon master for evenburn blade and later with Hellfire Greataxe and being Zariel Tiefling, which gives more more melee fire ability potential for fiery warrior build, I am working more on last feat, as second feat I use is elemental adept: fire to get more fire resist and fire damage. There are gear that gives heat that burns you bit and get buff that on consumtion of spell or melee hit triggers instant fire damage, which is pretty good, fire resist prevents it from quickly eating your health with buffs on you!

Hey great video, only thing I would recommend is starting sorc over cleric. Starting sorc grants you proficiencies in Con saves which are usually quite important. You still gain access to heavy armor and all that with cleric multiclass at level 2. Ultimately it comes down to if you would rather have Con proficiency or Wisdom Proficiency.

Man, your fire damage become stronger when you reach lvl 6 with sorcerer, not with your character. Draconic Bloodline give Elemental Affinity: Damage at lvl 6

even then, it adds your charisma modifier to your spells... his charisma is at 8. Lucky that draconic bloodlines cant subtract from the spell damage. Anyway it wouldn't matter because luckily the first mistake cancelled the second lol

Why not start 1 sorc for the con saving throw proficiency? you still get phalar aluve shriek without proficency

So, I don't know if I understand the synergy in this class. I see you close out with a non-finesse melee weapon and a piece of gear that adds weapon damage, but you recommend strengh 8. Isn't that very low accuracy? I also don't really understand what the sorcerer dip actually does for the build.

...so it's a Light Cleric with magic missile, firebolt that won't hit much (low-ish int), chromatic orb that won't hit anything (low cha), and a sword that won't hit anything (low str)? *golf clap*

Hey there :) nice build per se, light Clerics are amazing & I am gonna be playing one in my 2nd Playthrough. But like other people already mentioned, the 1 Lvl into Sorcerer got you no benefit at all. At Sorcerer Lvl 2 you would have at least gotten some Sorcery points & Metamagic. But only at Sorcer Lvl (!) 6 your CHA modifier gets added to your spells dealing your Elemental affinity damage type. But since your CHA modifier is at -1, so as is you would even lower your damage numbers if you changed it to Sorcerer 6/Cleric 6... unless you respec & set both your CHA & WIS to 16, but I wouldn't recommend that, cause then your other stats will be garbage. Generally it is really difficult - in BG3 & in DnD 5e - to combine two full spell casters with a different spell casting ability 🤷🏼‍♀️

@@grilledleeks6514 Hi there! Yeah, I guess you didn't read my comment. One Lvl of Draconic Ancestry "for the fire damage" does ZERO for your fire damage. Only 6 Lvls into Draconic Sorcerer would make the fire spells more powerful 😅🔥☄️ (but not with a -1 Modifier to Charisma, as mentioned above)

@@VikingsNeverDie Hey there :) I am planning my character to be inspired by Game of Thrones, kind of " A Song of Ice and Fire", focusing on Cold & Fire Damage.. so I guess I would start off with TWO Levels of Sorcerer (White Ancestry, for Armor of Agathys), some nice Cantrips (Mage Hand, Minor Illusion, Ray of Frost, Firebolt) & Lvl 1 Spells from there that Clerics don't get (Shield, Ice Knife, Featherfall, Chromatic Orb) & then just go from Lvl 3-12 with the Light Cleric :) That way you can play around with Sorcery Points & get some Metamagic, but also get shield & armour proficiency from the Cleric, fight primarily with magic, but also support & heal your party members, if the need arises :D And things like the shield spell stay relevant until the end of the game!! Oh and I would start with a 16 WIS/14 CHA/14 CON/14 DEX and then dump STR & INT (both at 8/9) Maybe this helps :D

Where do you get the Spell Savant Amulet? There's pretty much NOTHING anywhere online that actually points to its location. Even threads discussing what it does don't even tell you where it is. Did you actually find this in game, or did you just use a mod to make it appear?

@@xenoyorshka4419 elemental adept fire helps with anything resistant immunity wise you'll have to use another spell type or bench the character If it isn't your tav when I did my fire sorc playthrough I specifically respecced to have lightning bolt and a band of the mystic scoundrel set up for that one fight

Ok, just a sidenote: Movement speed is just too damn useful in this game to go high elf over wood elf. It doesnt seem like a lot, but 1.5 meter increased movement speed will serve you way more than a cantrip that scales off of int when you are a cha and wis caster. Something else to note, Githyanki get access to medium armor from the get go, and honestly if you can deal with playing a damn Gith, just make better sorcs/wizards than any other race.
