I love how the lyrics and certain layers of the music are slightly shifted. Certain notes 'follow' the voice, creating an uneasy, ethereal effect. The ambient noise of the flowing water along with the lyrics also obviously talk about the River, which is often associated with Time Passing and eventually Death. That makes me think that the song is about the Tadpole visions you receive during the story. Its a wonderful opening to Baldur's Gate 3, though it could be a bit longer so it doesn't repeat so much in the Character Creation lol.

I can't describe how sweet this song is. I just created sassy Dark Urge sorceress (who loves using fiery magic on people who annoy her and also is a living proof that all the dwarven stereotypes about elves are real) to it.

I like this version much more, the accent gives it a bit more of an exotic and slightly otherworldly feel, which it should.

She is not off key, and just to make sure rather than 100% trust my ears I loaded it into Melodyne to make sure and it's a good performance.

Dude. I've been a vocalist for a decade and a half. She's not off-key. If it sounds off-key that's because you're expecting a different tone than the one she's singing in, in which case your criticism is entirely subjective and invalid.
