You don't need to apologise for not making more free content for people just because they want it. Your channel already puts out a staggering amount of BG3 content that is super informative. Also, the game is literally DnD 5th edition, if they want late game builds just look at what works in DnD.

I think Battlemaster just one of the best. I go Rally, The passive that lets you hit when people miss your homies and maneuvering strike because it’s ranged OR melee so if you go dex based you can just play ranged and help your other melee move about if they’re a luggard like a paladin who needs extra movement. Literally a battlemaster

Love the fighter for my companions - I had probably 4-5 of them by the end of my first playthrough all just level 12 fighters with different weapon specialties - archer, dual wieldier, sword board, two handed - all felt different enough and made the game easier to play from a planning perspective, saved me some stress.

Or you could be a half elf, then you get access to Magic, especially the fire bolt, that can come in handy.

Interesting. Would you guys recommend trying Karlach as a Fighter3/Barb5 starting at lvl8 (up to Fighter3/Barb9 at 12)? Seems like you keep all the good stuff from Barb and still get the easier crits and what not from Fighter.

One lvl for Barbarian is enough. 2 max (except at max level, when you want that additional extrea attack from fighter 11). Alsl, Battlemaster is way better than Champion. And much more fun to play.

Where would you take the Eldritch Knight eventually? I've been playing one, and I've had my eye on 6|6, to gain access to level 4 spells (i think) by the end.

Right now a build I call the Githyanki Hoplite (I use it on Lae'zel), using a spear and shield. Bind Weapon allows your weapon to return to you when thrown, and Tavern Brawler at level 4 will add your strength modifier to your throws twice. Ring of throwing from the Grove trader will add another 1d4, and you can pick up the Sparky Light Hands in Act 1 to add 1d4 Thunder damage as well. If you want to multiclass, you might lose out on damage, but 6 levels into eldritch knight, 4 levels into thief (fast hands!!), and 2 levels into Abjuration Wizard might make a fun/interesting build. Use your bonus actions for positioning (githyanki jump/misty step to higher ground), abjuration reaction spells galore to get that sweet, sweet extra shield, then toss away.

Would the extra crit damage die stack with the Half-Orc passive, or would they cancel each other out? Because that Champion/Barbarian combinations sounds simple, yet also quite satisfying, especially when combined with weapons and items that reduce the crit threshold even further. 🤔 If you could relatively reliably crit, and on top of that deal four times the damage when you do, that'd be awesome.

Fighter is pretty strong (except EK), top tier class in the game. It's very hard to find a multiclass to beat the 3 attacks / 4 feats combo unless you only put in 1/2 lvls for armor/action surge. It's a bit like warlock. You can either go 2lvls for EB or 5lvls for pack of the blade or full-on 11/12 lvls. It's very hard to find a compensation for the 3x lv5 warlock spell slots.

I'm leveling quite easily with an EK. He's maxed STR and the Tavern Brawler feat means that his to hit roll is usually very high. He throws many different weapons (based on damage type) and they all return to him due to his Bonded Weapon trait. I mostly use his spell slots for the Shield spell. Good offense, good defense - what's not to like. I'll eventually add the two levels of Wizard unless I decide to go for the three attacks per round build.

Eldritch Knight is actually extremely strong if you build them right. Kind of a one trick pony (Tavern Brawler is soooo broken) with a throwing build, but it dishes out TONS of damage with the right items. I need to test it, but I'm thinking Githyanki (Lae'zel playthrough) 6 EK/ 4 Thief/ 2 Abjuration to make a super tanky ranged DPS Would wreck with Karlach going Bear Wildheart (below 50% HP bonus items) Jaheira CotL Druid for hard support and control Either Gale Divination (for rigged rollies and utility) or Astarion Assassin (engagement and massive damage)

Evasive footwork is bugged at the moment. When I activate it, it deactivates when I end my turn instead of lasting the round like the tooltip says.

In a table top DnD game I was in last year, I wanted to play a Legolas type of fighter with Archery and it turned out pretty nice. Any thoughts on focusing on the Archery for a fighter in BG3? Is there a particular subclass of fighter that would work well for that?

Ranger no? Not a fighter subclass though. You can pick fighter and set archery as as specialism though I think

Champion would be my pick. Getting more critical hits than everyone else really makes you feel like a sharpshooter.

Fighter with Archery fighting style, the Sharpshooter feat makes them vastly outperform rangers after lvl 11 with improved extra attack. As for subclass, champion's extra crits are power crept by equipment at endgame, but then again I don't remember how many of battle master's maneuvers can be performed with a bow, which I think would be the deciding factor.

I think most battle master maneuvers can be used with a bow. Also early game there is a Bow that gives you Hunters mark. Then there are a couple different pair of boots that give misty step to allow you to get out of melee and on high ground. Then backup melee weapon is the finess longsword you can find in the underdark that has a pretty cool buff it can do giving 1d4 to attacks or subtracting 1d4 from enemies attacks or ST. Those are really solid options to make a solid early game archery fighter.

Little off-top question. Is there any point to go for great weapon master feat on berserker? Since you’re already frenzy and can attack as a bonus action anyway, does that +10 dmg worth since barbs tends to miss a lot?

It does. Because of Reckless Attack, you can give yourself avantage on all your attacks at any time. So basically, you cancel the -5 on attack rolls by doing that and grant yourself a lot of extra damage.

just for consideration, its common I think to get melee classes to level 5 asap to get extra atack, its huge power spike, so with your plan you will get it 2 levels later

Please take a look again on the Evasive Maneuver skill again, the video is a lie and doesn't show the buffs on fullscreen, it's clear that once you cast this die it's only for 1 turn and it does not bring over on end turn.

Which version of him are you aiming for? Fighter 2/ Barb 1/Ranger 3 (Beastmaster) for panther. I remember seeing a 3.5 build that had barbarian in there, but after that rogue? Seems messy, but could work. Two weapon fighting scimitars be a drow and outlander background... I'm just guessing with flavor.

12 levels of fighter. No multi class. This is probably stronger than anything else in the game. 3,6,9,12 attacks in a turn. Combo that with great weapon mastery or sharpshooter .

@@skmo7072 I mean, that's also a build in a way? Just look at FudgeMuppets' builds for BGS games. Most of those are very character centric. Play the game how you want. Builds like these are mostly for people who are struggling with the game (regardless of the mode), and some people just like to see big numbers when they hit. Fextralife is hardly pushing forward "meta" or OP builds- they're just suggesting some ways to play if you're interested in a certain subclass but don't have the time or know-how to delve into a great way to build them without getting wrecked. I agree that some games (especially MMOs) have a tendency for the communities to lean heavily into meta-gaming, but BG3 is a single player game. I think Fextralife wants people to just have fun, and enjoy this awesome game that Larian has put out. I love my Strength Monk who can wipe an entire combat scenario in 2 rounds. I also love my Storm Sorcerer who refuses to let Shadowheart cast Guidance on him, because he's "too charming" to need it (spoiler alert, he fails charisma checks all the time) Play how you want. That's the beauty of single player games.

What's the whole point playing baldurs gate 3, there's no new game plus, it's exactly like divinity, no dlc, and max character is level 12. It's good thing I pre-ordered granblue fantasy relink on Amazon. But for baldurs gate 3,...... I think I'll pass. Baldurs gate part 1 and 2 is the best because I can import my old characters from part 2 and they increased max level cap by 40.

@@maineman5757 the point is to start anew with already finished build against even more dangerous opponents. You can barely taste the endgame before the game ends. You will spend more time wearing trash gear from act I, than actually experiencing a complete build in Act III.

@@Antares94 So Larian already kind of explained this. In D&D, as you level up, you get progressively more powerful- cool, right? Until you're a dev trying to balance god-like power levels beyond level 15. D&D works great as a table-top because you have a DM who can help balance and adjust to new scenarios on the fly. You can't do that in a video game. They believe that by capping the game at level 12, they have been able to deliver us a more balanced (and therefore more challenging and fun, imo) experience. I have to agree with them. If you want a "New Game +" you can download mods that will increase the difficulty, and add level 20 (through multiclassing only at the moment- mod has a version to instantly reach level 20 as well). While this game is titled as "Baldur's Gate: 3" I think we have to remember that this is made by a completely different studio than the originals. It's similar to DOS2, because it's the same studio. I mean, did you want Bioware under EA to make this game? I certainly didn't. Totally understand if you don't think this game is for you- that's fine. Your take on this game is just a little jarring on a video meant for people who are enjoying the game.
