As a warlock i used my imp to get in combat while everyone is hanging back. Then i sneaked all the way around almost next to the boss and used eldritch blast and yeeted her into the middle of the pit killing her instantly :D and killed the rest with the group. (you can loot the boss tho)

underwhelming fight , no quest associated, not the greatest loot, no big exp reward...

there is actually an imporatant "gem" you can find in the boss area, to unlock a certain "book" which gives a certain "buff" and unlocks inspiration to some characters.

Yep almost everything in the game has a purpose, you just probably haven’t come across it in your current play through/decisions you’ve made.

There's no quest associated with 99% of the boss fights in BG3. This isn't World of Warcraft. Also why would you need a large XP reward or some amazing loot? This fight wasn't that hard. What you wanna be rewarded for no effort or what?
