Looks good, Chris. You did a nice job on the repairs. For a 40 year old machine, it looks brand new.

Good to see another video from you! I am just like you, I would rather rebuild older equipment than buy some of the new stuff. Glad to hear the Massey is still doing good. I need to get my windows tinted but The first place I called said about $3500! Keep the videos coming please and I hope you have a great season this year.

@@CenTexAg one last question Chris, do you feel like the 4710 has enough power to handle that bigger mower? My dealer is family owned and we have known him for years and he told me my big 13ft cutter it probably wouldn’t handle it well especially in heavy hay so I’m thinking if I have some issues I might get it tuned. Now this is emissions equipped tuning not missing parts tuning but it does help even DLH farms has shown this, do you plan to do yours with that bigger cutter? I think I’m going to because the two tuners I’ve talked with said they have had no issues with the tractors they have tuned getting warranty work done and from what I’ve seen they can’t even tell the ecm has been flashed (flash counter) like a pickup ecm does show. Maybe bigger nicer model tractors ecm’s are that advanced like a pickup but 4710’s for sure do not record flashes. With this tuner I’ve talked with you get to keep your stock file too if you need to flash it back but he can safely tune it up to 120-5hp he stated but I might ask for 130hp tune. He also with write several tunes for you so you have 3 or more tunes with different power increments.

back when you installed the hay moisture monitor in the baler, did you get a chance to use it? how did you like it?
@CenTexAg3 ай бұрын
The moisture monitor was not worth it. It was to inconsistent and would show readings all over the place. I felt more confident just checking it by hand than trusting the monitor.

Did you re seal the motors on that r23a? Mines leaking and I’m wondering how hard it’s gonna be.
@CenTexAg5 ай бұрын
I did reseal them. It’s not hard, just take your time and pull them apart slowly. There are pistons and bushings on the back side that will fall out if you just rip it apart. The Allen screws holding the front adapter plate were stripped on mine also but I managed to get them out with an extractor. Also make sure you keep everything very clean when you reassemble.

How much did it run for the tinting and did they remove the windows to do it? I'm fixing to do the same thing to my Massey 4710
@CenTexAg7 ай бұрын
It was $400 for 20% and they came out to the house to do it. Yes all the doors, side windows and rear glass were removed and all the handles/hinges were removed off the glass. I helped them with that part and it really wasn’t that bad. Just have to be careful when putting it back together and not over tightening any bolts and shattering the glass
