Oh my >> do you love all the thieves and con artists there as well ? Sorry for the dark cloud but there are plenty. You obviously haven't been stung (yet). The massage girls that steal from your trousers when laying down and getting a massage. The crook money changers and the time share scam (to name a few), motor bike damaged scam, taxi scams at airport and in Bali (over charging), watches that stop immediately the fellow does the disappearing act, drinks adulterated with methanol (some have died) or gone blind. Hospitals that want cash before they give you treatment more than a panadol. Not being negative - it's a fact.

For sitting on the beach during the day , i found Legian best as the sea was nice and close to the beds and chairs . Meaning that as it also wasn’t busy it was quite safe to jump into the sea without having to worry about belongings or ask someone to keep an eye etc . Double six after dark though for sure .

Indeed. Sadly, not nearly as affordable as pre pandemic. My wife and I are booked for Feb 2025. Prices for food and accommodation now about 30% more. Even the humble massage and spa treatments .Still ok but other destinations may become better value. It'll be our 12th visit but likely to explore other and maybe better destinations. For us, the big attraction was how quaint and pristine the place was. It's modernising too quickly, with mind boggling traffic and as a result, costs are going up, up, up. The reality of progress.
