So, like many people, I had the thought of retiring in Bali. I started doing my research, watching videos, etc. I was watching you, Jean Voronkova, and others from which I got lots of information. Based on those videos, I will retire in another location besides Bali. But I want to say the content in your videos is righteous. You are telling it like it is. I will visit Bali at some point to check out the vibe, and when I do, the first beer is on me. BTW: My daughter visited Bali and said she can testify firsthand about Russian misconduct.

Bali has to deal with the road system if they want a " better" class of tourists ...and it needs to serve alcohol responsibly....i dont drink and appalled at the behaviours .. Totally agree with you Muzza been going too Bali for over 20 years something has to be done the yobbo mentality has to change as a proud Aussie I’m embarrassed to be Australian at times in Bali because of this behaviour not saying it’s only Australian tourists but or nationality’s they seem too leave there respect for people when they jump on a plane, I was once with my wife in a 5 star resort many years ago the language an disrespect for the locals was appealing Aussie boghans when asked by a European couple where I was from I said I was a kiwi too embarrassed to say I was a Aussie unfortunately it’s attitude an disrespect off the culture something has to change long term anyway love ❤️ your channel and content congratulations 🇦🇺

I don’t know any country where a visa can be that expensive for two months like B211A for US$ 250 ! That’s is $125 for a month. Bali is getting expensive and will scary away families and retire people who are respectful and quiet.

$150USD that will kill Bali off for sure. People will choose other SE Asia destinations, Phuket for one, only an extra 2 hours in the plane and no Visa fees and last time I checked no massive difference in flight costs.

Everyone has an opinion about Bali - from my point of view, the tranquillity of the small hotels is getting pushed out making way for international hotel brands and resorts. I understand that business is business and the more upmarket tourist development happens the end market will bring in the dollar, however, at what cost to the locals who earn a living with the market stalls that are now fast disappearing - We are seeing this with new art development centers, as an example just off Kuta Square and Ubud. That said progress is not a bad thing we just need to see that Bali is coming of age but let's not forget why we go to enjoy local culture and beliefs and the essence of Bali. Big business has the potential to destroy this as much as those individuals that don't respect or embrace the island for what it is. Bali needs financial support to develop roads, water supply, and other basic infrastructure and this should be supported by Jaktarta, not the other way around. One last point all the talk of development is not new - Bali was planning on building another airport to the north of the island with the view of becoming an inbound destination for cheap flights resulting in what could be seen as a rebirth of Kuta to the north leaving the old Kuta as a top end destination for those who are seeking luxury getaways...

Completly agree Muzza. Bali is very culturally unique. I feel all the western torist things being built will reduce it to a certain degree maybe close to all together. So i pray for Bali, i do miss the Bali of the 80s. There are other very beautiful areas of indonesia however they do not have that bali religious and cultural aspect. I love my Bali family.

I hope the extra on a Visa doesn’t come in, most of my family have been coming to Bali since 84, one daughter and her hubby have 3 kids, this extra will turn them away sadly. More police, responsible serving of Alcohol would help and deport those at first sign of trouble.

I just paid 20 million RPH for my first year of a retirement visa. My pension proceeds are spent here and my life savings are here in the name of my significant other. We take care of the local dogs and cats that have been abandoned. I see elderly foreigners that live around me that make a positive contribution to the community. For people that aren't into partying on there is an entire island that is almost devoid of tourists. Get out of the party zones and head up island.

I can't help thinking that with Thailand's more relaxed drug laws, the Yobo element will be naturally caught in its orbit and leave Bali alone, if the laws tighten up. Having lived in East Java a few years ago, there was an underlying resentment for tourists who visited only for the cheap booze and desperately poor women. I shared their sentiment. Still do. There is always something to learn there; you just need to be open to it.

Hey Muzza. My Niece just got back from Bali and said the Police were pulling over a lot of scooters. What is the current situation? I usually get a scooter and have been for over 20 years and I also don't usually bother with an International license etc. I got a local Bali scooter license by going to Denpasar Police Station many years ago and that has lapsed obviously. It was a pain to get but am willing to get one again if possible.Di the scooter riding test, photo done etc.. All very official. Has helped me minimise fines over the years with the police as they can see at least I had a proper license at one stage. Do they still do the 2 month (or was it 1 month?) tourist scooter licenses? What are the current options? Would be great to do a video on this. Thanks.

I really don't get this. Horrible tourists have been in Bali forever, but I do believe the youth of today are very bad in thinking the World owes them something and acting with no respect. Ban the tourists from countries that have little respect for the locals or other tourists. From what I gather, eastern europeans are a problem? I am an Aussie living in Europe and when I lived in OZ, I would never have gone to Bali because of the name it had with rough Aussies. Fortunately I have been many times since moving to Europe, often for work and I love the place, but I keep away from Kuta and Chanju because of the Aussies that stay in those area's.

Part of the problem in these beach resorts all over SE Asia is these specials of all you can drink for X$ and buckets of booze for X$. This just promotes and encourages people getting pissed as newts and becoming aggro. These things need to be scrapped. To be honest it doesn't matter where you go whether it's Sydney for the night, London or the Gold Coast you always have people behaving badly.

What Bali needs is to limit the development of tourist facilities rather than trying to limit the number of tourist. Bali is becoming over exploited which will eventually destroy the charm and beauty of Bali. Make a slow upgrade of the facilities and more quality tourism will eventually be the result. Indonesia is a great country to travel in, and there are beautiful places in so many of the islands. I have travelled in Indonesia since 1977 and lived there for 6 years, but over the last year so many "unwanted" tourist have arrived, that the Government is trying to find ways to reduce the number of those from arrriving, in order not to spoil the holliday for the remaining tourists who know how to behave themselves. Tourist tax has been discussed for as long as I can remember, but I doubt it will come to that. I don't see a quota system being implementet as well, but hopefully they will find effective meassures to get rid of the troublemakers and lawbreakers of which there are too many at the moment. I wish them the best of luck. Thanks for a sober update.

A tourist tax will damage the numbers of families considering a holiday in Bali. Increasing policing & deportation targeting rogue tourists will more effectively get the message through to those thinking they can disrespect the laws & culture of their hosts. The recent & unfortunate bad behavior of international tourists & subsequent legal actions & deportations had huge coverage in the Oz media. The Tourism & Marketing departments of Bali must sell Bali as a cultural & family friendly destination. A history of kneejerk reactions, Ill conceived solutions & flawed communication has unfortunately disincentivized family tourism on many occasions. I witnessed first hand the effect of both Bali bombings & of course the aftermath of covid on the population (numbers) & the economy. Bali needs respectful, sustainable tourism.....Respect, Russ

To me it's a bit of a kick in the teeth that you keep referring to a better class of people of people with money. Families travel to Bali because it was cheap to take a family not because they had money.. What Bali will and have already is a bunch of rich kids with daddys money coming to Bail.. What Bali could end up with is no family's being able to afford to come to Bali.. Bali should concentrate on lawless behaviour and continue to deport and ban those that display bad behaviour not punish those that can just afford to take their family away for a week or two.
