Baling Late Hay. The Finish Line is in Sight!

Come along with us today as we bale up our 4th cutting off our little "Test Plot" field and also bale 3rd cutting hay off the upper 1/3rd of our main hay field. This is the final cutting of hay off these specific fields for 2024...with only the lower 2/3rds of our main hay field left to go. The end of our 2024 hay season is within sight! Looks like the new meter is working good. 14% seems really dry and should be just perfect for horses. Short hay sure is a challenge, looks like you done a great job getting it bales. Especially in challenging times. Short hay never make the quantity it looks like for some reason. Sally and I will continue praying, another good video.

Thank you Sir. Much appreciated! This was the latest in the year I’ve ever made hay and lesson learned to NOT make hay this late in the year again. Main reason we even cut this late was to donate some hay to some folks in need. I’d do it again for that reason only, but just to schedule it this late on a “normal” year again, no way. The heavy dews and lack of drying temps and short growth made for a tough time with this hay. Our best to you and Mrs Sally.
