Balkan Tunes 2 - Avarta Kiirtan

"Avarta Kiirtan" is chanting of mantra performed in 6 directions and each turn signifies a special spiritual ideation:
1. (starting position) "I am the embodiment of sincerity."
2) (90 degrees clockwise from 1. ) "I have innate love for Parama Purus'a (Supreme)."
3) (180 degrees clockwise from 1. ) " I will purify my mind with fire of devotion."
4) (270 degrees clockwise from 1. ) "I am overcoming all internal and external obstacles."
5) (starting position, looking upwards) "Oh, Lord, take me onto Your lap."
6) (looking down) "I surrender my everything to You."
These melodies are inspired by and based on folk and popular tunes from the Balkan states of former Yugoslavia. In 2011/2012 Paresh made his little garage-studio available for recording and invited his guitarist friend Marko Josipović to help us with it. In those days we thought to share the recordings via CDs or, later on, SoundCloud. Life had other plans and kept us busy with various more urgent&important projects... Finally, this year it's all tying in nicely together: not only are they all uploaded to SoundCloud - thanks to Gunatiita', another kiirtan-lover and supporter - but they've got beautiful visuals at last, too. Videos were shot in Senj, Belavići, Mrzlo Polje, Baška, NP Plitvice Lakes, Botanical Garden and public parks in Zagreb, mostly in the summer and autumn of 2023 and spring of 2024.
I hope these melodies and images will inspire both the Samajas/communities on the Balkans and the whole world to feel closer & be kinder not only to each other but to the beautiful & nourishing nature around us as well.
