I tried loading a door family but I can't find it anywhere. what should I do?

there is another good method: make (or download) a file that has all the families placed side by side (sorted). You can then just open the file- preview everything in 3D and when you found a family you want to use just double click it to edit and then go to load to file on the top right to get it into your project. I found about about those "library" files when I was searching the 2018 content they removed from the German version (and replaced them with hard to use "better" ones...)

Revit really is my favorite tool for preliminary architectural sketch, but its too bad I have to use other program for real project files because 70% the buildings here are wood framing and building code here demands detail framing sheets. Sadly Revit walked away from that option and I cant justify spending more than Revit license costs for addon plugin like AGA-cad. As it is now, can use Revit only as pre-tool for the real work.
