Balkin just wanted to say that I love your videos. You have no idea how much you inspire my creativity and help me become comfortable with revit. Much love brotha 🦾

Any chance you could do a tutorial about face brickwork above a window where top is curved.

Hi - I am doing a large (100 million euro) project with an integrated landscape- building element in Revit so I watched this and I was curious to see if you had any tips or tricks that might be of use to me and the team. Unfortunately, I didn't see anything here. And that is all. So keep up the good work there Balkan!

Is anyone alive? How can I disable backups of a regular locally stored file?
@AussieBIMGuru2 жыл бұрын
Use revit forums not youtube. I would suggest making the file workshared, then using local files to sync to it. This disables backup file creation.

The massing tool is very, very overrated - it feels like a non architects notion of how an architect designs. The adaptive family part is the most interesting aspect of it by a wide country mile.
@AussieBIMGuru2 жыл бұрын
Theyre pretty bad versus platforms like rhino. Most real firms do not use massing beyond feasibility studies for yield (mass floors). We actually use rhino and rhino inside/adaptive components. None of the firms featured in these videos would have used revit massing for their design process.

@@AussieBIMGuru There is a Revit (or other BIM authoring software) method outlined in the CIC AEC protocols I have used happily on a few projects. I found there is a very quick transition through the main project stages after a slightly slow start. Getting design leads to have a little patience was the hardest part. None of our design projects in Rhino have made it a detail design stage so I can't speak to how the two development options compare. One thing I don't ever recommend though is the massing tool.
@AussieBIMGuru2 жыл бұрын
@@joerourkework yes typically rhino is not for detailed design. At the same time I tend not to encourage relying solely on revit at any one point of a project, as the tools and user skills limit the design/construction potential.

@@AussieBIMGuru yes, so many programs, so little time...I do like trying to get the most I can out of Revit though and I think the CDE generally (BIM 360 in our case) is very under utilised.... BTW I love that cat in your videos I think he / she is the true star!...have a good one!

That interface bro... Man, just minimize the tabs to titles, and project browser and properties throught hotkeys, so you have a free screen. I dont get it why people stick with this horrendus UI
@joerourkework2 жыл бұрын
With this response I can see there is a lot you don't get...basically that would be the whole 'Information' thing in BIM...maybe you should get back to just using sketch-up?
@oliveiraluis35402 жыл бұрын
@@joerourkework What the fuck is wrong with calling the right pannels at the right time only when you nedd em? I mean, your fucking drawing, arent you? Hotkeys, that exists? I work in BIM, wait for my imposter syndrome, watch me.
