LOL! I decided to try and pick up my ball python for the first time just now.. I picked up his hide and he grabbed onto it and it startled me.. I tried to put it down (upside down) because i did not want to peal him off it and then I got scared I squished his tail, but I am like 90% sure I did not as he did not react to it at all and his tail was off to the side.. I could have picked him up then and there but instead just chose to pet him, as I was mad nevus and hands were shaking a bit.. I pet him for a good min and he was super chill and did not hiss or even act like it was bothering him. He was much more calm and relaxed then I was. I could have picked him up then and there, but chickened out, i'll give him a day or two and try again. I love the guy so much, trying my best to get over my nerves.

I have a ball python (male 7 years old) and i also work at a haunted house as a manager and sometimes we dress up for outside of the house as a snake goddess of sorts or snake nun. Ive been trying to find ball python care for entertainment industries such as haunted houses, i know how to handle and all that but i am wondering about stimulation and stresses and time to handle

Is it okay to hold my ball python at night when she comes out and explores? She comes out every night and will sometimes surf the glass for a minute, so I'll open the door and she will crawl out onto my hands! Is this appropriate or should I only handle during the day?

Do you think it’s possible to tame a really shy and 11 years old boy? He was only handled 3 times in his life. We love him already!

To each their own but it makes me sad to see these beautiful animals in little tubs like that.

I understand but Ball Pythons live in holes in the ground in Africa... The tubs are so they feel safer and they have everything they need each tub has heat & water and perfect humidity...

@@MYANIMALHOUSE the main thing is they are well cared for and healthy! I know it's not feasible to have large tanks for anyone who owns more than two lol I only have one so it's easy for me to have him in a 120 gallon, upgrading to a 180 gallon this spring

Ball pythons are a very shy snake ... How often do you interact with it?
