It's crazy how beatbox battling has taken on more of the aesthetic of Rap battling like learning things your opponent does frequently, and "making fun" of them. It's interesting how it's evolved

Why does everyone always have to complain about the outcome of the battles? Why can't we just appreciate that we just witnessed possibly the greatest battle in beatbox battle history, between two of the most technical beatboxers of all time. Ever since the last world championships this is the battle I had wished to see the most, and this battle absolutely lived up to every expectation and more. Maximum respect to Ball-Zee and Alem, you are both legends and the outcome of this battle had no impact on that.

For anyone still arguing about the outcome of this battle 6:36. The beatbox community is a family, and this just proves it all right here. Ball-Zee and Alem both just dropped probably the best two rounds of their life, and they are just in disbelief of what each other is capable of. Who cares who won, I'm just glad I got to witness this battle between two legends.

Reeps explained their thought process for the decision in a comment in the complete upload of the livestream. If I remember correctly it amounted to Ball Zee's best moment being only the second round or something like that, and I would agree since to me, Alem won the first round with a 4/5 and Ball zee 3/5 , and the next round it was 5/5 Ball Zee and Alem with a 4.5/5 because Alem was completely sick too. Awesome battle either way.

EduarGmez15 explain how in Most rounds Alem uses the same Technique. as a bboy if you repeat in rounds it is a mark against you. same if a DJ dropped the same track twice. just off sounds alone Ball Zee murked Alem. i can pull up old vids from years ago where Alem is practically the same let's see how fast i can make noises. that's BORING!!!!!!!!!!!! it's like cool. you are fast. but where is the musicality. if i was looking for a beatboxer to book for an Event i would never pick alem. Ball zee i know could hold it down. Ball zee Burned Alem soooo hard ripping on his style in the second round! unless you come back with a heavier round after a burn you should get 0 points. that's like getting slapped in the face in front of your girl and you crying. doesn't matter what the fuck you do after you are always a 0 haha. my opinions though.

Dark Elixir Well that's just not true, alem was incredibly varied in this competition. And the last round was what got Alem the win, it's just so amazingly difficult plus it's an original "song". The beat can be heard better in the Gbbb2015 Seven to Smoke battle in number 28, against Alexinho. You're saying there's no musicality in alem, but I beg to differ: West Side, Get up, that rap one, his cover in the final (Which is amazingly constructed) are all very good beats musically and technically. Of course all of this amounts to just opinion at the end, since BZ and Alem are both incredibly talented, but I just completely agree with the judges here.

i hate the fact that the beatbox community judges how good you are on how fast your beats are, i mean, being fast is hard an all, but don't musicality counts? in this battle ball zee's flow and musicality is WAY better, it just feels more planned and clean, alem's are just bawtajsdabnhajwrfoajpsfjpaoijwpfrj. but it's fast tho, so i guess 10/10 huh? +Murid Smandela But Alem's musicality was on point. And there's way more to music than melody and bass; it's like with hip hop, you have to look at how percussive it is. Alem's beats aren't just fast, they have a certain energy and intensity with the performance. Ball-zee performed wonderfully, but the problem with upper level beatboxing is everyone has there own style and it's like comparing a Ska song to a Jungle song.

I expect a lot of hate for Alem under this video, I don't want to defend him again, I did often enough. That battle was actually very close live and definitly the best battle in this tournament, but most people here won't care as they didn't have that live experience. So I have another perspective to share with you, just give it a chance. Alem won the Championship this year. You know what will happen? He will propably not compete anymore in any tornament. You know why? Because there is nothing to achieve, nothing to prove anymore, he has proven to be the best beatboxer in the world for his generation, there is no point beyond in the battlescene. You can see the same for Skiller, ZeDe and Roxorloops, they do their showcases but they are mostly judges at the moment. And that is actually very good for the beatbox community, the champions are making place for the new generation, for the new age. So winning the Championship means automatically killing your battle career - that's why it's the best decision to let Alem win it. I don't even think that judges are concidering this when they're voting, but you guys should consider it. Imagine Gene, B-Art or Napom winning the title - they won't battle in tournaments anymore, their career in the battlescene would stop before it has actually really begun. Alem has reached the highlight of his career, he had top places in really relevant tournaments. If his career as a battlemonster is finished now it's fine. Same would go for Ball-Zee or Babeli. So I'd be happy with any of those three winning the title. I'd be sad if any of the newcomers would've won the title, because that would mean that we won't see them in tournaments anymore. So if you're a fan of Alem you should be happy that he finally got what he deserved, if you hate Alem for some reason you should be happy about his win because you won't see him competing anymore, if you don't care about him you should also be happy because we had the best Championship ever, the strongest one, the one with the most variety. I hope that this brought up some fresh thoughts to your minds that you could consider before typing down a hatecomment. And yeah, I'd give that battle to Ball-Zee but it was so insanely close live that any decision was fine, for real. But as we see Ball-Zee is growing into something so insane that he was never better before. I'd love to see him in more battles, who knows, maybe he gets the title next time. We all should be happy that he might be still in the game while Alem has reached the top spot for now. After a Fatality the game is over, and Alem finished it after the finals.

Vic Mack Ah... now I see what you mean by your theory. Yes, it's both great and sad that Alem won the championship. It's the hardest thing ever to live up to WORLD CHAMPION status of whatever your skill/craft/talent is. People need to stop looking at this as "the biggest rob in beatbox history" and love for being one of the best battles in history.
@marcusmessenger1491
@marcusmessenger1491 9 жыл бұрын
Vic Mack That's irrelevant though. Every battle should be judged on the performance in that battle alone, nothing else should play a factor. The only important thing is that Ball-Zee was denied his world champion title, and his potential future as a beatboxer was held back. He would have become one of the most successful beatboxers, as a world title leads to literally thousands of bookings... Just saying :)
@ThunderCuber3
@ThunderCuber3 9 жыл бұрын
Marcus lulz Not necessarily. Skiller won in the last one but look who is looked at as the best beatboxer, or as everyones favorite. Reeps one. Just because Alem won doesnt mean that everyone else is denied a future in beatbox. Literally the opposite actually. Dharni, Krnfx and reeps one are prime examples of this.

Marcus lulz, Alem does only technique, technique and technique, seldom he's musicality. Alem is the one beatboxer who reached a high level only with technique. IMO Ball Zee is beatbox 2015' winner, because in final he'll kill Napom easily. Yeah, man, I agree with you absolutely.

ilyukha-tcokotukha Alem had some musicality in his second round aswell with his raggy trap music, which was not that bad at all. In my opinion it was a pretty close battle, even if Ball Zee got the crowd pumped up a lot with imitating Alem. But this kind of a showcase shouldnt be the main point why someone should win in a battle. Otherwise the whole beatbox community battles would only be about getting the crowd moving instead of looking at the actual skills of both beatbox artist. Either way... both had great set ups... dont know why so many underestimate Alem so much only because he goes for more technicality overall. Also if you look at all of his battles in this event, he had a pretty big variety of beats, routines and... ya... some people wouldnt believe it ... even with some musicality involved ... but seems like people cant or just dont want to see that. The fun part is really ... if you look at Beatbox World Championship 2012, nobody complaint at all about Alem's beatbox style even though he got pretty far (Final) ... more hate went to skiller back then... its always the same -.-

When I shown this to my friends, don't know anything about beatbox, 8 of 10 voted to Ball-Zee. 2 peoples who voted to Alem said "Because I think he made hard things." But all of them said same thing : "Ball-Zee's beat is more comfortable to listen." (We all studying practical music in university.) No objection of Alem's won, but that's my opinion too :)

BorWouterUruz you know what, it doesn't make any sense to qualify a close battle with mixed voted, if one side tipped to the battle and all the judges know what they're doing the obviously they may well all vote one way, no matter how close the battle, especially in this case.

People are not understanding this competition. This jury is not only looking for just a beatboxer who pleases the crowd. They're looking for beatboxers who can battle. Although Ball Zee did both, but if you observed him well, you would have noticed that he solely focused on crowd control than anything else. If you remember back in 2012's World BBX Championship, Skiller vs Reeps One battle. That battle is an example of what happened here. Reeps One pleased the crowd more than "battling" Skiller if you catch my drift. I can see why the jury picked Alem over Ball Zee and I knew it was going to be a hard decision to who deserved to win while I was watching the stream. Alem deserved to win. I'm not a fanboy, I'm just explaining to you guys why Ball-Zee didn't win.

This was totally the best battle of 4th beatbox world championship. Same feeling as in last BBWC final when Alem faced Skiller, but honestly I think Ball Zee would've deserve this. I mean there is many similar comments and I understand its different live, but Ball Zee's second round was something that gave me chills for whole round. That's very rare to happen. Ive seen thousands of beatbox videos in last two years when I started beatboxing myself. Everything in it was pure GOD MODE. He made cover of Alem's beat, so sick beginning with those amazing unique sounds and that last part that is one of the hottest beats from Ball-Zee. Perfect battle round. Damn. Alem is great, and did amazing job, but I just feel Ball Zee's new sounds (not like Alem who did same beats in elimination round) and beats + that Alem cover made it the best round in this whole BBWC 2015. Anyways, I understand it was close call and Alem was strong in whole tournament and totally deserves what he got. Both are amazing beatboxers, top of the world no doubt. Still, I hope to see Ball Zee winning next one and lots of more. One of the most creative guys in music in many ways. Never gets boring and never stops evolving. Damn what an battle. (Longest comment ever from me to youtube lol, maybe that tells also something). Thanks for the battle, you both are winners and inspire people so much. Damn!
