thanks Mr. Dave, if you want to cut some grass come to my house, 7 straight days of rain in Central North Carolina and we are suppose to get another 6 inches by Saturday, then go 3 or 4 days with no rain, then start again. Mr Dave, it started Raining Thursday July 18th to present and we have had about 8 inches thus far, with 6 more coming. And my yard looks like a jungle, LOL. Thanks again, Mr. Dave, I really enjoy your videos. Have a wonderful day and weekend coming up.

Another nice show of trucks here, Dave! You were correct about the Mack being an R Model. Those old trucks definitely sound like trucks. I see very talented early-twenty-something drivers at the truck shows, and I too think it is great and am very impressed with how they carry themselves and are good respectable young adult men. And the trucks that these young fellas drive would blow you away. 🤠👍
@ThatsDavesOtherDoings5 ай бұрын
My hat's off to that young man Scotty, driving that old relic around all day with only window air conditioning. His parents own a good sized car lot and sell used cars. It's great to hear you are seeing younger guys running trucks. So many of the young generation wants to sit behind a computer all day instead of out doing manual labor that is much needed.

Nice of the rain to knock down the dust. We had a Mack at our mill but the Road Ranger trans got so bad you had to double clutch every upshift and downshift. Made for a long day for the driver. When we finally sold it, it was on its' sixth trans, forth engine and third set of drive axles plus the frame had been welded and patched at least ten times. It was always rode hard and put away wet. Great video, enjoyed it much. Thanks Dave!

That Mack does sound good Dave. You will be happy getting all that rock delivered and glad it has got cooler out there for doing your work. I can't sleep in the heat either and then felt tired out all day. Keeping working is good if you have no hobbies to keep you active, saw an old school mate a few weeks ago who just retired after 50 years, he said he felt lost with nothing to do.
@ThatsDavesOtherDoings6 ай бұрын
I'm sure, many guys I've talked to said retiring was the worst decision they made, then others tell me it was the best, so it's all up to each individual. Several of my old buddies retired because their family made them, they didn't want to and struggled with that. Thanks so much for watching and may you have a very good day my friend.
@cedarcam6 ай бұрын
@@ThatsDavesOtherDoings Yep it is a real hard decision. I thought long and hard about it. One thing was future health cos both parents got cancer and Dad only got 18 months after his retirement age, he left a bit early luckily. Well for me it has been the best decision so far, but poo tin has sure caused a lot of inflation which has used up more cash than I ever was spending before. Our country relied so much on getting their coal and oil. Have a good day

Yes there are many instances of persons retiring after 30+ years from the Army, Marine Corps etc. quite healthy and dead within a month or so. Suddenly ending a highly structured life brings an end to the life. That 86 year old truck driver/owner may be quite insightful!
