Something small that I’ve noticed that helps my anxiety is switching to decaf coffee. I never thought caffeine had that much of an effect on me but I cut coffee out for a few months and when I started drinking coffee again the panic attacks were wildddd. It might be something small you could try!

Hey Luna! I’ve had crippling anxiety my whole life and here are some things that have helped me: 1) DBT skills. Omg i can swear by DBT. it’s basically a set of skills to emotionally regulate. Regulating throughout the day is super important, not just when you’re in distress 2) Take care of yourself. Getting enough sleep, eating properly etc. these affect you way more than you probably think I know you said you were on meds before and are looking for more natural ways. I feel like meds help but they don’t fix the problem, you still need to do the skills. It could be useful to consider meds if you’re really struggling in conjunction with the other stuff
@izzy_02132 жыл бұрын
I definitely agree that meds are a great tool to help you build up those skills and be able to focus on basic needs like eating and sleeping. I feel like with so many issues whirling around in my head at the same time, it definitely helps to have that bit of support.

I’ve had the worst anxiety starting a new job, moved to a new city (coming from a small town), started university. The medication I was on really bothered me so my best remedy I’ve come up with is milk thistle and CBD oil. Something about this combination helps me with my health issues as well. As a type one diabetic with liver and kidney issues it is a lot easier on my body then Prozac.

Music helps a lot for me, or drawing (especially Mandalas), wearing rings on at least three fingers so I can play with them or humming (hope thats the right word) while placing a hand on my chest. Some of these methodes are not for on the go, I especially feel anxious in trains or busses thats why I mention drawing. The rings are helping me at least a bit to prevent biting my nails. I also have panic attacks and for that I have lavender pills bc I also like natural active ingredients. Depends on how heavy the attacks are, but for the softer ones it really helps on a daily basis. Take care everyone! And stay strong Luna

Hi Luna! First of all love your dancing videos, second of all: venlafaxine really changed my life. I had really bad anxiety attacks, to the point where I felt I couldn't function at all. Tried venlafaxine (the lowest dose) and really felt a huge difference within a couple of hours. Two weeks of quite horrible side effects, but after that it stabilized, and now I have no side effects at all. Been taking it for a year, still the lowest dose, and honestly, it has changed my life SO much. I haven't had any of my old anxiety again. Most of all it has changed the way I think about myself. My anxiety made me think so low on myself, and it saddens me how many years I have lived like that. With medication, it appeared to me that whenever I look in the mirror now, I think: hey queen! instead of: see, I'm ugly, I have to hide. Wanted to share my experience and saying that I really recommend this type of medication for anxiety. Before this I have tried literally any natural remedy but venlafaxine was the game changer for me.

i have been experiencing this EXACT same thing! i was prescribed medication but i have opted not to take them, so that it doesn’t become a dependent. i have found that chamomile tea helps a lot, taking five minutes to either cry, scream, or breathe it out, and music! not to sure if you’re into aromatherapy, but certain shops make a blend of oils in a nasal vapor stick form just for anxiety/panic attacks. my best friend has one and she says it works and has helped.

Sleep/exercise/eating routines are sooo important when it comes to mental health. Regular eating to keep your blood sugar regular is crucial when dealing with anxiety. Look up the studies with intermittent fasting-especially in women it raises cortisol levels which adds to stress and anxiety. Even if it is just a little bit, make sure to eat in the AM and eat regularly throughout the day. It changes how I’m feeling immediately and you can find yourself in a rut if you haven’t been treating your body well. That alone changed my anxiety so much. I had to dial back caffeine by a huge amount. I only drink tea now, I know for coffee drinkers that can be hard but you can make yummy tea lattes too! I take magnesium supplements at night and it seems to help me. Not sure if that is placebo or what! You aren’t alone and I have the same thing with being in stores, it started happening after Covid and I hear so many people struggling with sensory overload in stores. You aren’t alone!
@_bebeboudeur_2 жыл бұрын
I agree with the routine, I was feeling much better when I could go to uni everyday. A nurse in high school told me to take magnesium supplements because I was feeling feeverish (which is usually how my panics attacks start), I've never done it but I feel like it should indeed help. Some supermarkets have quiet hours especially for people with sensory overloads, they started doing it in France at least.

The EXACT same skin thing has been happening to me too for the past few years. I struggle with severe anxiety and panic attacks as well and the only thing my doctors can think of is that it’s a stress response! I remember you posting about how your skin peels on your hands on your Instagram story and I was so shocked that someone else is experiencing the same skin thing that I have been. I also get patches on my face, and the skin around my eyes have swollen and flaked like crazy for weeks at a time when it flares up. So far the only thing that helps the flare up is hydrocortisone cream, but I find if I keep my entire body super moisturized every single day, the flare ups are less severe!!

Hi Luna :) I've been struggling with anxiety for some time now and it's gotten much better lately. I have never had medication for mental health problems and I decided to treat my anxiety with therapy. I think medication is a good option if you need it. However, it can be the case that medication just removes anxiety symptoms while the root of the problem is still there. Dealing with anxiety is a process which consists on getting to know yourself and how your body and brain work. Through therapy it is possible to understand the background of anxiety and help you develop methods and tools to deal with it. I hope this is helpful. It can also be difficult to find a good therapist, I consider myself lucky. I would recommend specialists focused on the connection mind-body and treat problems looking at them physically and mentally. Good luck in your journey Luna, we are all here to support you

Anxiety for me feels like thoughts that are going at a million miles an hour, each telling me what's going wrong. If yours is anything like mine, it can be fixed through consistent mindfulness. If thoughts are your anxiety, and it is true that we are not our thoughts, there is a separation between who you are and your anxiety. Therefore, to combat your anxiety you must train your thoughts. Recognize what physical feelings arise when you are anxious (for example butterflies in your stomach) and let them be an indicator that you now must pay all of your attention to your thoughts. When you are paying attention, you are able to separate them from who you are and what is happening around you in the present moment. Focus on what is in front of you and what is objectively true. I've learned which thoughts are anxious and which are not and am therefore able to dismiss those that are out of anxiety. Meditation helps. I think the root of it is recognizing that your are not your thoughts and that you can choose what to think. Thoughts arise and it is your choice whether or not to follow them. Hope that helps.

Hey just wanted to say that the one thing that has helped me The most with anxiety is going to a specialist and doing ERP therapy! It’s mainly for OCD but can be used for anxiety and it helps so much! A lot of times therapists don’t understand that by telling you to avoid situations in which you get anxiety it only helps further program your brain to create more anxiety but ERP therapy can help by forcing you into situations that cause you anxiety so that your brain can slowly reprogram your brain. Anyway you should totally look it up or maybe see anxiety specialist as it can help so much I used to be in a place where I couldn’t go into hardly any social settings and I would have tons of anxiety and panic attacks at dance. Now i am dancing again! Anyway sorry for all the information I hope this could help you!!❤❤❤
