You are so underrated!!💕Thanks to you i really want to start ballet but i am muslim and i wear hijab so i don't know if i can take classes with only girls! I wanna start ballet at 13 but i think it's too late and i am not flexible at all😅😅

I’m so glad you found my channel! And I hope you will find a ballet class to attend-I know at my ballet studio in NYC the hijab would be fine, but I cannot say what other studios require. Whether or not you find an in-person class, please do some ballet with me! It is very, very important to do something you love! Flexibility will develop with practice. And the lessons ballet teaches will last a lifetime! 🥰🩰✨

If you could possibly change the camera angle so that the camera faces directly towards you and your body faces the camera I think it would help a lot! ;) (Don't get me wrong this is an amazing exercise and I'm very grateful that it's free it's just hard for me to follow because the angle the camera is at is a bit strange but I understand this is free so I'm not trying to complain
@everydayballet11 ай бұрын
Hi! I generally show this angle because it is possible to see more of what’s happening with the leg and body when it moves to the back. The exercise does assume that the toes will generally align with the nose when moving forward and the center of the head when moving backwards. Once that is clear, this angle provides important information about “the back half” of the sequence. I know it is a bit different than other videos, but there is a reason I demonstrate using this angle-though I can appreciate that it may take a bit of getting used to! I sometimes use the straight on facing for two-handed barre sequences and/or center practice that changes from side to side. But I have found that students miss out on how to support the core and pelvis while extending the leg behind if I use the direct angle. I hope this helps explain and that you’ll still enjoy my sequences, even if they’re a bit more work in the beginning. 🙏💕🩰✨

Thank you for explaining! ❤ I just need to get a bit more used to the angle so I’ll definitely be watching your videos!@@everydayballet

I just love this video! 😍😍 Today I was looking at some of the amazing classes on your website and I hope that it will be possible for me to purchase them soon ❤🥳😍 but may I ask you a question.. As I was doing the workout and looked into the mirror I noticed that my (inner) thighs were sticking together (I'm a little bit overweight) it's like my legs are making a cut after the knee and now I'm super concentrate working on that problem.. Is there anything I can do to fix the problem? 🥰🤗🌼 Thank you for all your work dear Tiekka and have a great day 🤗🌼
@everydayballet4 ай бұрын
Hi! So glad you enjoy my videos! I'm not sure what you mean about your inner thighs or "making a cut after the knee", but it sounds as if you may have some hyperextension of your knee joint. This is not a "problem" so much as just a physical/structural trait to work with. In fact, many dancers covet hyperextension because it creates a beautiful line of the legs and feet! That said, it can be harder to develop strength and alignment with this added bit of flexibility (if indeed it is hyperextension). But practice and awareness are the key to every ballet practice, so you can learn to work with it and make it into an asset. I don't know for sure if this is what is happening with your legs, but I hope it helps for whatever it's worth! Thank you for your kind words! 🙏🏻💕🩰

Very helpful. Where do you recommend purchasing a ballet barre for home? Thanks in advance.

You can find a barre on Amazon. This is a reasonable place to research the different kinds available and see what will fit/work in your space. 😊
