Ottimo il mantenimento delle pose figurali alcune delle quali inedite ed estremamente accattivanti nell'ensemble. OTTIMO quello che con un mio neologismo mi piace chiamare convolo aereo ed elanista della ballerina ottimamente indotto e tenuto dal partner. Ottimo l'eundo della ballerina si di una sola punta di una difficoltà massima ed eseguito con disarmante naturalezza esecutiva. Ottimo l'impadronimento dello spazio proscenico da parte del ballerino a balzi falcati amplissimi ed a rotazioni volanti Ottimo il senso del continuum dato alla pièce danzante unito ad una sensibile impressione di facilità esecutiva d'acchito da parte di entrambi. This is a minor detail, but at 5:32 where nearly every other danseur mushes through the connecting steps, Matvienko actually gets in a respectable changement before his piroutte. I read about them on another GPC page and was not disappointed, although holy cow the orchestra I could have done without, and the dancers and the conductor seemed to be disagreeing on the tempo. Also, despite this, there are two places where Anastasia actually makes the woman's steps harder than they were choreographed. So bravi!

Yes, this PDD Classique is a masterpiece. The lightness, effortlessness, pure beauty. Perfectly matched bodies, great chemistry, her silhouette Is perfect, flawless.. She Is Also one of the balerinas with perfectly arched legs, feet like Sylvie Guillem. AND both with great elegance, poise..very well filmed vídeo. Thank you!

This is one of the lovelier versions. It is interesting how different orchestras vary in playing this piece of music. Auber? Hardly should be such a challenge but it seems to be.

Uh---I realize some of the problem is the audio and video equipment (since they appear so tall and thin, like they grew up on a planet with lower gravity) but I think I've heard better high school orchestras. It looks like maybe the conductor and the Matvienkos never rehearsed together, and I swear at about 2:00 they've just changed the steps because the music got so far off what they were doing (this is in that tricky bit where they do a star lift, then a supported pirouette, then she tries to stay balanced till he gets in a double tour, then they kneel).

She's actually making the variation and fouettes in the coda harder. In the variation, when she gets to the releve battements, she does croise, croise, then turns en dedans, THEN battements 2nd rather than getting the 2nd in before turning and turning en dehors. Fouettes are usually fouette, fouette, second, double where she seems to be doing fouette attitude back, attitude front, double. Both effectively rob you of what little momentum you have, so pretty amazing that she tried this.
