July 2024 adult beginners pirouette to Scott Killian's genius music. These dancers are almost all late beginners with very limited training (1 or 2 ballet classes weekly) but are equipped with a fierce determination to master the challenges of ballet dancing. The woman closest to the camera is Claudine Carter Pereira who teaches in Florida, has attended most all my teacher workshops and has brought five of her students. I advocate Balanchine's extended long fourth position plié preparation for pirouettes because it looks elegant and expansive.
