Love the giggles. I imagine you two doing a global whistle stop tour of nutcracker performances and having uncontrollable giggles in the last row of the stalls when out of pocket things happen.

I remember my first Nutcracker I was 4 years old and I was an ornament. We came out after the Prince was brought back to life by Drosselmeyer after battling the Rat King. I love being in the Nutcracker every year, it's one of my favorite ballets. My favorite role was Clara, I want to do Sugarplum fairy (that part is only for the seniors).

Actually Het Nationale Ballet doesn't have a Christmas tree because they wrote it in a way that centers a local feast called Sinterklaas. Which at the time (and still, now) is much bigger than Christmas and is also in December.

Me, who grew up with Mother Ginger: *confused screaming* Also, I’ve guessed several correct! Not bad, given that I've never danced Nutcracker.

I will say, boston and seattle (pacific northwest ballet) are on opposites sides of the country, hahaha, though I guess both balanchine (pnb has had some great nutcracker set designers, maurice sendak (where the wild things are) and ian falconer (olivia)!)
