I personally use the command hooks and attach a line to the middle on the back-side. If tape won't damage your wall and you can get the balloon to stay on it then you could use double-sided tape. If they don't stick, then you can get some glue dots (sold at walmart, michaels, hobby lobby usually around the scrapbook section) and put a glue dot on the balloon and stick it to the tape.

I personally don't stick them to the wall, I just hang them with string and a thumbtack that is the same color as the ceiling. I suppose you could use double-sided tape?

I tie them as close as possible, so the inflated part is on one side of the knot and the excess neck is on the other.

No it's probably not the same pump. I use Qualatex balloons, but if they work and aren't popping on you then I say go for it.

They'll jump up like that unless the center balloons are in place. You can just twist in the center part then rearrange them once it's in. : )

The cluster won't stay flat without the center balloons in place. You can go ahead and add the set of 2 balloons (one in front and one in back) then rearrange them as needed. : )

You can make them a day or two before. They'll last for weeks if kept inside in a temperature controlled room. They can start to loose the shine as soon as a few days so you don't want to make them too early. : )

I'm not sure what you mean by stay up, the 5 inch balloons don't float. They'll stay inflated for weeks..losing a little bit of air each day. I use Qualatex 5 inch balloons for these. They are the best brand when it comes to decorating.

I can't think of any other advice. once I've added the 2 center balloons, I've never had any issues. Maybe try making the petals a little smaller?

I have made both large numbers (8+feet) and small number (4 feet). For the small one I used 1/4" rod (shaped to the number) wrapped in 5" balloons inflated to 4". Then placed the bottom of the number into a good strong base.

You can buy some air pump at any dollar store or walmart

I use a double pump, so each direction counts as 1 pump, whereas with a single pump one direction will push out air and the other direction will take in air. : )

Balloons fly up with helium. The small 5" balloons won't float with helium, you would need to make it with 9", 11", 12", or 16" balloons.
