How can we see it in action ? how do we see the memory inflation or deflation happening in VM's hypervisor in OS.

Excellent video.I do not think ballooning is kicked in when the guest run out it's memory. Then it's swap kicks in. Ballooning will kick in when host needs to take out the capacity of VM when it allocated more than it's share. Correct me if I am wrong

Why are there 2 guest operating systems? Isn't one of them supposed to be the host?

In a virtualized environment , There can be N number guest operating system on a single host.

I had to re-watch a couple times as well because of this. There is 1 guest OS depicted. The arrows are showing steps in the process: init state, inflated, paging to disk. Or in reverse: init state, deflating, moving pages from disk into RAM
