Leaving aside the disgraceful way Clenshaw has treated Max Bowden, (why didn't piss artist Jess Wallace get the same treatment after assaulting a police officer IRL when in drink ?) where the CHARACTER of Ben is concerned, if he really loved Callum he wouldn't keep embarrassing him by thieving, knowing he is a police officer. If he really loved Lexi he wouldn't keep committing crimes. Ben is a recidivist. I really hope Callum is staying and developing a healthier relationship with another character, or perhaps stays single for a time.
