ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਮਿੱਠੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਹੈ । ਸਿੱਖ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ ਲਿਪੀ ਵਿਚ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ ਉਰਦੂ (ਸ਼ਾਹਮੁਖੀ) ਵਿਚ ਲਿਖਦੇ ਹਨ । ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਦੋ - ਦੋ ਲਿਪੀਆਂ ਹਨ । ਇਸ ਪਖੋਂ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਇਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਅਮੀਰ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਤੇ ਮਾਣ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਣ ਹੋਣਾ ਵੀ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ।

ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਨਾ ਕੇ ਸਿਰਫ ਇੱਕ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਲਕਿ ਇਹ ਇੱਕ scientific ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਯੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕੁਝ ਹੋਰ ਖੋਜ ਕਰਨੀ ਪੈਣੀ ਹੈ

ਬਹੁਤ ਰਿਣੀ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਾਦਾਂ ਦੀ ਕੰਨੀਂ ਕਿਤਾਬ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਏਵੇਂ ਬਲਰਾਜ ਸਾਹਨੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਕਿਤਾਬ ਫ਼ਿਲਮੀ ਆਤਮਕਥਾ ਪੜ੍ਹੀਏ ਤਾਂ ਪਤਾ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਟੈਗੋਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਬਲਰਾਜ ਸਾਹਨੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਬੋਲੀ ਨਾਲ ਕਿੰਨਾ ਡੂੰਘਾ ਲਗਾਉ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਨਤੀਜੇ ਵਜੋਂ ਅੱਜ ਉਹ ਮਾਂ ਬੋਲੀ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਦੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਸਪੂਤ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

The way Bengali love their mother tongue , I did not see any other people love their language !!!! Punjabi language suffered a big blow from the Muslims and Hindus when they discarded it on the name of religion !!! Language had its roots in the History , its people not in religion . It was the tool of communication in between our forefathers without their religion !!! It is social interaction between peoples, and it was made and refined by our forefathers !!!

Balraj sawhney an awakened soul who loved Punjabi perhaps did not know the living languages change with times and tensions. Punjabi has absorbed lex icons from other languages in the process of its growth and evolution; shows it is not dead language. Balraj must have watched the growth expansion and enrichment by absorbing massive terms from foreign languages.

Punjabi is an beautiful language, but Punjabi keep on changing with time , when you read BABA FARID JI , it has lots of Sanskrit oriented words but now a day’s, Punjabi have more Arabic and Persian words , but Punjabi becomes victim of racism, Muslims started using Arabic alphabet called SHAHRUKHI , and most of Hindu Punjabi after emerging of ARYA SAMAJ in Punjab during 1879 starting using Hindi , only Sikh have started promoting Punjabi basically because our GURUS used it to write GURBANI and named it GURMAKHI , Punjabi people have population of 200 millions, but unfortunately Punjabi language is betrayed by its own speakers, on the name of religion .but we should learn from Bengali , no matter it Bengalii is Christian Muslims BUDHIST Jain or Hindu , they speak Bengali and use Bengali in Bengali alphabet, even RAVINDER NATH TAGORE got noble price by writing GETANGLI in Bengali
