BALTHVS is Johanna Mercuriana (Bass), Balthazar Aguirre (Guitar) and Santiago Lizcano (Drums). Yes, of course they do resemble Khruangbin very much. But didn't that get your attention? ;) And they are admirers of Kruangbin. Each one is so talented, they are capable of playing nearly anything. So keep your eye on this band because they are extremely creative, good-hearted people. They are always evolving and something tells me they will surprise us! I'm so excited to see what they do next.

I love Khurangbin and also met Laura at a live performance in the Uk. I can't wait to see this band also live in the Uk. Ps great stuff love the arabic style tunes

Keep listening. You'll here what you didn't catch before. Do you realize how TIGHT they are? I don't mean like in a restricted way. I mean, they are just moving together as one. It's like they've been playing together for decades. The more I listen to them, the more I realize they are quite different than Kruangbin in the actual song composition as well as the feel. Much, much more organic and rooted in their own genuine emotion. Also noticing Johanna's bass has a funky feel and I love it! There's depth and nuance that I don't find in Kruangbin. Tight but not that mass-produced feel; more authentic. Psychedelic for sure. The more you listen the more distinction you hear.

I think Khraungbin has opened the door for more bands like this. Hell, i first heard them on Khraungbin's selected songs list..and while they are influenced by Khraungbin, which is not a bad thing, they do have their own groove of Columbian surf funk. But the guitarist using the Strymon El Capistan repeat is pure Mark Speer and the bassist body movements are straight from Laura Lee.

This was BALTHVS first presentation as a group in 2020 and it was virtual due to the pandemic. Thomman chose them from more than 1000 Musicians from around the world. Good eye Thomann music, this band has already reached all the world in 2024!

Love this band, more dynamic, spatial, and the bass and drums are intricate and expressive than Kruangbin. The shows from Austin demonstrate my comments.

She definitely influenced this bassists look ( hair) movements ( hip dips) facial movements. Khraungbin has opened the door foe good bands with similar musical styles. Not a bad thing. Just as The Mighty Van Halen started a clone movement. Khraungbin, who has paid their dues, has naturally brought out copy bands. Now I'm not putting down this talented group of musicians. But I did discover them on one of Khraungbin's song collection of groups they like.
