The Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Museum for their annual Railfest Steamdays. This year's event was quite different from the past, with the Lafayette operating for the first time in years. The event has been expanded to encompass the entire month of October instead of just one weekend. October 5th was the only day where all three events, Civil War Weekend, Steamin' Saturdays, and October Steam Month all overlapped.
The engine powering the regular excursions was 0-4-0 #4, the St. Elizabeth. St. Elizabeth was built in 1950 by the H.K. Porter Company, she was the last engine built by the H.K. Porter Company.
The Lafayette is actually a replica, built in 1927 by the Baltimore & Ohio for the 1927 Festival of the Iron Horse. This engine was built in the Mount Clair Shops, which is where she was running during Railfest 2013. The Lafayette is a 4-2-0 Norris Type Steam engine. Sit back, and enjoy the sights and sounds of steam on the B&O, don't forget to comment, rate, and subscribe for plenty of great railroad action!
