That OC better not forget LJs running ability is THE weapon and not an obstacle. Make the game a real 11 v 11. With LJ and DH there’s no reason to ever be in a 2nd/3rd and long. Spam the zone/read option and eventually LJ or DH will break one. More importantly, it keeps the D on edge and also opens the passing game all while dominating TOP. It’ll be real hard to beat BAL if they have the ball most of the game.

I feel you, but him having Lamar throw helps the Flock in long run! He needs to be comfortable and also we don’t need to risk injury close to playoffs. Ravens have always been a run dominant team, but now they have the ability to sling it.

@ for sure. I’m just saying that if BAL does it right, theres no need to sling it excessively. They are 2-5 this year when LJ throws it 30+ times. Thats right, each L has come when he’s thrown it excessively. And this is not a knock on LJ because he can throw it, it’s a knock on the OC for deviating away from the team’s edge. It’s like looking at the box score of the GSW and seeing curry had 2 3pt attempts and 20 other FGA from inside the paint, that’s not right. It’s the job of coaches to position their players in spots where their strengths are magnified. If they want to win, they’ll put the designed run game on a pedestal. Furthermore, players like LJ who like to run and get physical benefit from early physical contact. It wakes them up and gets them in flow state. It’s actually wise to design an early QB run just for this purpose even if it’s only for a few yards.

If Baltimore continues to base their offensive attack on the fact you HAVE to respect and plan for LJ to keep/run on designed zone/option reads, nobody can really stop them and DH will continue to run wild. They had greatly reduced the amount of these zone/read options/QB designed runs up until these last two weeks. They had both the NYG and PIT (a divisional opponent) searching for answers. LJ 5 TD passes 6 carries for 68 va NYG. DH then goes for 162 vs PIT! t’s too much to account for LJ or DH gashing you every play. You have to keep spamming that action. Even the 2-3 yard plays keep the team in 2nd/3rd and short and increased time of possession as well the D on edge. This is chess not checkers.

The difference between Lamar and Josh is when you watch Lamar play to hear a lot of “beautiful throw”’s, but when you watch Allen you hear a lot of “what a catch”’s. Just different players.
