Some silver paint to the front plow and grille improve the look of this figure a lot, I think. It breaks up the "sea of black" the figure has out of the package, especially in alt mode.

Agreed. Ironhide feels WAY too spindly. It's not as noticable on Trailbreaker since he's solid black and has the extra bits to fill out his shoulders and arms.

Mash up the non-spikey bits from THIS figure with an Ironhide, paint the resulting figure red and white (or silvery-white) with a blue visor and BAM you've got yourself a classics(ish) Swerve that's more in scale with other figures.

Mad Max, Twisted Metal...Death Race 2000 Mode! I almost, almost picked that up at Target a couple days ago. I did not get it for the very same reasons why you think the Ironhide is a better figure. I just like my Transformers more "streamlined" in Alt Mode. If the alt mode is not a military vehicle, it just looks silly to have guns and oversized grill on the figure, just my preference. Thank you.
