Starscream w/ Swindle - Transformers Armada

For those that don’t own the figure, 1) swindle connects to the bottom of the nose of the jet as storage, and you can press down on the cockpit button to eject him, which makes an ejecting noise followed by the laser sounds; 2) pulling back on the back minicon peg makes a flying sound, and 3) placing the minicon on the back peg and pulling back on the peg makes a different laser sound. I don’t know why these things weren’t covered, because those are some of the best gimmicks on this figure, but here you go. Also, I’m guessing this copy was low on battery, because the laser sound from the cockpit button should be a faster pace.

That's why in my headcanon he was still alive. I like to think the beam that vaporized him actually transported him inside Unicron. His brother, Skywarp, felt he was alive and charged in, carrying Swindle and Starscream's sword. Starscream was weak but the boost he got from Swindle's upgraded form as well as the extra power in his own sword was enough to jolt him awake.

This was the first Starscream i got as i never had his G1 version, you did miss his other minicon gimmick where you can place him under the nosecone section so Starscream can carry him and then deploy him by pressing the cockpit. my only complaint for this figure is that i wished that both his wings can become swords as he has used both before on a few occasions.

I have armada Starscream and there is more things that i think they haven't showed in the instructions, if you put the minicon at where you can unplug his shoulders rockets, you can make another sound and also something that i have discovered with him is that you can plug his minicon under the cockpit of the jet witch also have a button to make like the same sound effect but with a different soud that passes to the ordinary soud effect after being activated... i know it's complicated but if you still have armada Starscream, look under the cockpit of the jet, plug the minicon in and press the window of the jet and you'll see what i am talking about.

He had the best gimmick with the folding sword wing. I actually got Skywarp just to use as my self-insert character for the show. I had the Thundercracker version as well, which thanks to the show was also canonically Starscream. I flipped out when his wing sword still had the red glow dispite his new paint job. Such a cool detail.

You can also attach swindle to the back port and pull it back for another sound effect.

You miss sound effects. If you clip Swindle on to the under side of the cockpit you'll get one, and if you pull back on Swindle when he's plugged into the gimmick he'll make another.

Something he did not mention or show, the Swindle minicon can also attach to the underside of the nosecone of the jet. This is not a normal minicon port, but just a clamp that will only hold Swindle

Swindle does store under Starscream's cockpit in vehicle mode and you press the cockpit down to release him.

I love this mold of Starscream. In fact i liked it so much i have Starscream Thundercracker,Skywarp and Ramjet, didnt get the Sams club repaint because it just wasnt different enough of a paint job to get. Im glad you reviewed this, its hard to find reviews from transformers from Armada. And thats a shame cuz i love that line. Heres for hopin to see more Armada stuff, Thanks sir and good review.

I actually have a KO starscream where the minicon(called rigrod or something like that) that had the hole on top, and it also came with red versions of the other two minicons. My cat ate 1 of them, lost the swindle dude, and still have the one that forms the center

I own the Thundercracker version of this mould (or Powerlinx Starscream if you prefer), and it was my first Armada purchase about two years ago. Thundercracker and some of the Armada reviews you've done sold me enough for me to also pick up Tidal Wave, Galvatron, Cyclonus, and Demolishor. Very nice.

Hun. You missed a goof portion of the sound gimmick--the post that activates the cannons can be pressed backwards slightly, which also activates sounds. You can *also* clip Swindle into a location under the nose, which causes a *different* sound when you press the cockpit. Unfortunately, the battery on mine *is* dead, so I can't really describe the other sound at the moment.

You forgot to mention his other sound. If you push back on the mini-con port that deploys his cannons, he makes a laser firing sound that's quite long. Also, he's got an unofficial "gerwalk" mode that gives him a Robotech/Macross VF-1 look. It's pretty cool.

You really have got to look closer at the figure, on the back minicon port it activates two very nice sounds that play on from the show when he first gets Swindle and folding the said gimmick piece down would lose his show accuracy

Great Review ! Ahhhh this brings back memories to me. I myself was a beast wars kid and armada was the last series I was really into. This Starscream was amazing I think I had 2 of them. The optimus prime from armada was a very cool design but IMO it flawed as toy. I'd look to see a 3rd party make an armada prime so when in super mode the trailer legs were legs and not just panels from a base mode. Which the base mode was really cool as well. Armada was probably my favorite Transformers series.
