Theory: When Reggie was alive he had a younger brother and always took care of him whenever their parents were fighting (cause Luke said his parents were a fight away from a divorce), that's why he loves hanging out with Carlos he reminds Reggie of his younger brother. I remember at one point, I think in the second last or last episode, Reggie says that they (Alex and Luke) are the only family he has, which is true in a sense that his parents had moved away and the geographic location of his neighborhood was no more, but it is also sad to think that maybe he had absent parents or parents that didn't care much.
