Steven, I bet you'd be shocked at how many of us older guys who used to fish the Gulf now live vicariously through you. If my health continues to improve, perhaps I will be able to fish off the state pier next summer.

I recently repowered my 24’ Bay Boat with the same 250 Hp Yahama and found your video about breaking in the motor. I fish about 2 hours east of you. 7/19/24 caught a big Bonita about 25 miles east of that spot and farther out, bled it by cutting gills, iced it, fileted off bone and cut each fillet longwise to remove the red/brown blood line, then cleaned the fillets up, which were about the thickness of a backstrap. Had fillets on counter and my daughter came home and I told her it was Tuna, which is what it looked like, a little darker than the best Tuna. She cut it up and put Soy on it and ate a big chunk and loved it. (hope she doesn't see this) So then we marinated the other fillets cilantro, lime juice, and soy sauce. All that brined/cured it. Then Ann ate a huge bowl of it sashimi style over rice and loved it. I sweat she ate half a pound. Won't throw back another one.
