I lost vision after this movie came out and so for Spike Lee to have said he would make a call about audio description for this movie is pretty awesome!😊

RIP Stanley Crouch I used to see him all the time. Guess it must've been when I had basic cable and watched CSPAN all the time

Spike is right. If you want to go see the film, you have to make the effort to do so even if its not playing in your area.

I have been wanting Spike Lee’s take on this film since 2000. Thanks for this! I thought it was chilling satire and incredibly effective… and then I thought I was coming from bias and then I was completely sitting with that cognitive disillusionment… is their fascist and anarchist in there or am I nuts? Was Spike Lee as prophetic as all that or was this more of a personal working through personal cognitive dissonance? Neither and both… I thought it is one of the most difficult and powerful movies of my lifetime… kind of like Waiting for Godot….how do Jung’s (white dead guy) Schemas play in?

Comment section kinda dumb. "Bamboozled" wasn't made purely for money. It was made on a very limited budget, controversially made its point, and flopped at the box office exactly *because* Hollywood shunned it and didn't want to promote a movie lampooning Hollywood. That's *exactly* what the movie was about. White Hollywood funds stereotyped black films/TV while not funding black films/TV that actually challenged stereotypes. The other point of the movie is despite the reality of that stereotyped content tends to sell better, you still need to try to challenge it.

Exactly. I think it's one of the greatest movies ever made. It's so subversive. It directly inspired me to do the KZbin show I'm creating.

Now I have seen the movie, Mr lee, and all others involved, in the desperate need of CONTEMPORARY PROFIT. BAMBOOZLED them selves. more than anybody else. it makes no definitive specific in any way.

Spike Lee, you experienced it all by actually being there when it all happened?
