I have been running an A1 mini for 2 months and even got a small business running, really effective machine almost no issues, only once i had to take out the hotend and cut some fillament that was stuck, but never any problems. If the prints start to fail the most simple solution has been to clean the build plate with water and a dish brush.

A point of clarification: the desiccant inside the AMS Lite enclosure will NOT dry the filament inside it. It keeps the humidity down so the filament does not absorb more moisture. In order to actually dry wet filament, it needs to be heated up so that the filament can actually release moisture into the air (which then can be absorbed by desiccant to keep the air dry, etc).

I haven't really had any issues with getting the plate dirty from touching it, however, I do wipe down the plate before every print with IPA. I've been using cotton rage but really like that rag holder and will be printing that ASAP. I've been using that PTFE tube splitter you showed for a couple of months now and it's been amazing. I have my AMS lite wall mounted behind my mini, and the external spool is fed from above. It's extremely convenient not having to detach one of the PTFE tubes from the AMS lite to use the external spool.

I would not suggest to spray the build plate with IPA while its attached to the printer. You risk spraying the Y axis guide rail too (which is lubricated) and the oil would dry up.

that’s a good point 🫡

Another option would be to spray the pad.

Good, useful stuff. Most videos like this have maybe one useful thing that I’ll try. I like all of these, other than I don’t have drawers yet. I like the idea of the filament cutter right there on the AMSL. Will free up a set of shears that clutters my 3d table. And the 5 tube feeder is genius!

How do you upload files on it with a sd/mini sd card or with a usb stick?
@jet_leaАй бұрын
you can export from bambu studios to a mini sd card, plug it in to your printer and find it under local files :)
@radish6691Ай бұрын
Technically the PTFE tubes are not Bowden tubes because the A1 Mini has a direct drive extruder, not a Bowden extruder. And what are y’all doing to your build plates that you need to clean with IPA? Here’s the only recipe you need for a clean build plate. Ingredients: sink, warm water, dish cloth, dish soap, something to dry with (I use paper towels), build plate storage. To clean: wet plate, soap plate, scrub plate, rinse plate, dry plate, store plate. There is never a need for noxious chemicals like IPA or acetone.
@jet_leaАй бұрын
I will give it a try and see if I have the same success:)
@garethneal82Ай бұрын

@@jet_lea thanks. i've looked on MakerWorld and I've found individual items. but not a dual.I could probaby mesh 2 together and make what I'm thinking, and I don't think having 2 spools on top would make the unti too top heavy..
@MiroSaysАй бұрын
Nice, you are showing some mods I haven't seen yet! I have an alternative for the build plate holder. Or I should say, Bambulabs has one. Take a look on the micro sd card that comes with your A1 Mini. Mine (A1) has a build plate protector on it. It's not a perfect fit and only prints in PLA, so I have copied the gcode to my Mac, uploaded it to an stl converter and then to another online converter that fixes stl files and then I could finally import it into Bambu Studio, stretch it a little bit and print it in PETG. I'd share the file, but since I have not found it on makerworld it doesn't seem Bambulabs has published it and I don't know what license it may be under - if any. I did know about the filament cutter, but never tried it so I didn't know about the 45° which is a lifesaver with the ultimate enclosure. I've had problems with 2 different brands of filament so far which just wouldn't get into the motors. I'll definitely print that if I can figure out how to make it stay where it's supposed to be with my vertical (wall-mounted) AMS Lite.
@jet_leaАй бұрын
I'll have to look into that build plate holder and I would love to hear if you find a solution for the vertical mount!

Don't need any of these. I don't understand what's wrong with using two fingers or just wait 5 minutes. I never removed, nor touched and with that cleaned my build plate at all. Just wait 5 minutes and take your print of with no resistance? Also never had issues with the filament feeding, even broken off or flat cut filament gets feeded without any issues.
@jet_leaАй бұрын
That’s awesome that you haven’t had any issues, I must be a tad unlucky i guess!
@soniccinosАй бұрын
6:53, Bambu lab says you should not cut the filament in a angle if using the AMS Lite system... The best way to cut is exactly how the print already cuts the filament every time if stop printing. Totally flat!
@jet_leaАй бұрын
wow i had no idea, that’s great to know !
@radish6691Ай бұрын
Can you provide a link to where BL says not to cut filament at an angle? I looked through the BL wiki and quick start guide, couldn’t find anything about loading filament. Cutting at an angle is the only way I can get filament to load sometimes.
