These are great tips. Thanks! My A1 with AMS Lite was my first 3D printer. It's the coolest thing I've purchased since my first bike, computer, game console and first car. I love it. I'm learning allot too considering I've only had it a week.

I'm glad you liked it. You have a lot of excitement and fun ahead. You never forget your first printer. My first printer was a printRbot simple. It was made of wood and used fishing line instead of belts....printers have come a long way in the last 11 years.

I would really appreciate a video on improving the quality of A1/A1 mini prints, common mistakes that ruin quality and how to fix common issues. I have had my A1 mini about a month now and have noticed a decline in the quality of the prints. I am not sure if this is due to wet filament (my main theory) or something else. Would be a super useful video!
@How2Texan
@How2Texan 8 ай бұрын
That sounds like a good video, and i would be happy to make it. It will take me a bit to put it together, so in the meantime, let me try to assist you. It is possible that wet filament is to blame for your problem, but I assume you are fairly new to 3d printing and are printing a fairly new roll of PLA or PETG. If this is the case, it is unlikely to be wet filament. Please message me on printables. If you could send me some pictures of your problem and some more info on the filament, i will be happy to try and help you resolve your problem.

Nice content. Making videos is hard. I suggest a) making sure the image is level (can be done in post-processing), b) considering doing some color grading to remove the "yellow bulb" coloring. This will make things nicer to the eyes. Usually the first thing to improve is the audio, but that will need extra hardware.
@How2Texan
@How2Texan 9 ай бұрын
Thank you for the advice, I really appreciate it and know i have a lot of room for improvement in my videos. I have been fighting with those bulbs for several things they are doing with my cameras. I actually replaced them twice during the course of replacing the video. I am fairly happy with the bulbs in the last few minutes of the video. What do you think? I will also try to level the videos. I honestly hadn't even considered that aspect of the process before, other than trying to level the camera.

@@How2Texan In a way, yes this will be my first printer. I technically had an Ankermake M5C for a week, and it was a great newbie friendly printer for someone that didn't know anything, but it also didn't have all the sensors, the ams, the stronger rails, the camera, the touchscreen, and all the other tech features that the Bambu Lab did. At first I thought nothing of it, but as I did more research, I realized why the Bambu Lab name was revered (and sometimes hated lol) in the 3D printing space. The M5C was within the return window for amazon so I sent it back along with the $40 external screen I had bought for it. At this point I am preparing for the A1 by watching all sorts of tutorials on their slicer software and the printer. I do appreciate your kindness and I will be sure to ask if I have any questions! I have realized that the A1 is very fast and it will be more that enough for my needs. The corexys are expensive, and i'm just a hobbyist at this point, but I guess its the tech of those machines that has me looking at them :)

Tip 10 make sure you print the bed cable adaptor to avoid the current defect A1 announced on the recall
@How2Texan

Actually, the problem seems more serious than that now. There are several influencers reporting that Bambu has advised them to tell people to stop using the A1 even if there is no damage. I also read a report that Microcenter is accepting returns for all A1 printers right now and has pulled all A1 printers from the shelves and is returning them. I just posted a YT short but will be making a new one soon with more info as i find it. Stay safe.

Awesome video. Thank you. I jusy got mine last week. Skipped the ams because i didnt know much about it snd regret it. Do you recommend a specific filament brand and type for the articulating type prints?
@How2Texan
@How2Texan 3 ай бұрын
@vincentparent2851 With this printer, you will get the best results from either PLA or PETG. I recommend PLA as it prints nicer. As for the brand, there are many good ones. If you want fast and convenient delivery from Amazon, try Polymaker, Hatchbox, or Overture brand filaments. Bambu filaments are high quality and can be purchased for around $17 a spool if you buy enough at once. And if you want maximum savings, i have been using a brand called 3dmax aka iiidmax. If you buy 10 spools at once, you can get it for about $12 per spool. I will say that 3dmax doesn't do the best job with spool winding, but i have never gotten bad filament from them. Hope helps. Feel free to ask more questions 😊

Great video! I'm having a heck of a time getting a nice "face down" coaster to print on a smooth holographic looking plate similar to the one you show, can you PLEASE share some tips / settings?
@How2Texan
@How2Texan 8 ай бұрын
Sure, i am assuming the issue is that it is peeling off the bed before the print is done? If so, my first question is, are other prints sticking fine. If they are then it may be model or print settings but if other prints are giving you an issue then have you tried refreshing the bed with IPA or giving it a deep clean with dawn dish soap. I dont know what setting you are using but if your trying to use the lowest layer heights then that might be the problem. This one may sound silly but have you made sure your model it lying flat in the slicer? Sometimes models get saved in weird orentations and can cause problems if not rotated flat. I would like to help more but will need more information to dial into the problem. If you reach out to me on printables we can work it out easier.

Thank you for your video helped me a lot… I also have a question is OK to go in Ludacris speed all the time or is it bad? I know it reduces print quality, but will it also break the a1? Thank you ❤
@How2Texan
@How2Texan 21 күн бұрын
@PRD_Productions thank you forntlyour compliment. That is a good question. I do not know anyone who does ludicrous speed all time. That said i think we can make a few assumptions. First i do not think it will break the machine otherwise bambu would not have included it as an option. If they thought it would break the machine then including it would have set them up for allot of warranty problems. The second thing we can assume is that like any tool or machine using it at its maximum capability will cause it to wear down exponentially faster. This means you may have to do maintenance more often and replace parts much sooner. You may even wear out motors much more rapidly. I personally only increase the speed once in a while when i am on a time crunch. Hope this answer is helpful. Please consider subscribing if you haven't already

As a texan, I'm assuming texas is mainly extremely low moisture in the air. I live in the swamps of Virginia and we are having a heat wave so there is a bunch of moisture in the air. How often do you deal with moisture issues, if at all? I want to test if running a dehumidifier near the printer would help or if the ac is also introducing moisture. Love your content while i ponder this
@How2Texan
@How2Texan 3 ай бұрын
@TheBinklemNetwork i live in South Texas within an hour of the coast. I definitely have humidity problems. You would probably have it worse, though. That said, even though PLA absorbs moisture, it does not affect most prints. ABS, ASA, and nylon prints are very problematic without drying. That is why inown multiple dryers. Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to ask any more questions you have.

Thanks for the video, subscribed! I have a question. I’m planning to buy A1 as my first 3D printer, so the idea came up to install it in the dressing room, and attach the AMS system upside down to the hanger bar. Do you think this option would be acceptable? The AMS will be directly on top of the printer, but not touching it. Also, what will be the length of the printer if the bed is moved all the way back? Thanks in advance!
@DonnyDonnMendoza
@DonnyDonnMendoza 9 ай бұрын
You’d need about 545mm total length to accomodate the length of the bed moving either side. Easiest way would be to get a desk of 1 foot wide & 2 foot depth & put the A1 in the middle of the desk. With the AMS lite top mounted; it’ll take up about 3 foot height.
@legobrickingnews
@legobrickingnews 9 ай бұрын
@@DonnyDonnMendoza thanks for dimensions and advice! A bit sceptical about AMS lite mounted on top, because it's 4.5-5 kg weight in total (((
@How2Texan
@How2Texan 9 ай бұрын
The total length of the machine with the bed to the back is about 18.5", and i recommend that the you have a minimum of 2" past this to your wall but more is better. the bed of the machine will also extend over the front by 3.5", so i would say 24" of space is required for operation. I would not recommend mounting the AMS upside down as it may cause feeding issues, and the ptfe tubes would not be long enough. I have seen people mount the ams to the wall behind the machine. There are designs on makerworldto doo this. If you mount it too far though, you may need longer ptfe tubes, but if the tubes are too much longer, it may cause feeding issues. I can not say that for sure, but it is a possibility you should be aware of. Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have more questions.

I'm glad you liked the video, and thank you for the compliment. In answer to your question. There are many who recommend a deep clean with hot water and dish soap before using a brand new plate. I have personally never felt it necessary to clean a new plate. I am not saying that it doesn't happen, but i have never had to do it. I recommend you just try printing. If you have problems, wash the plate then. Let me know if you have more questions.

@How2Texan
@How2Texan 4 ай бұрын
Just so i understand. You would like a video showing how to use the single spool holder instead of the ams lite? I can tell you that one is all manual and you will need to disconnect one of the tubes from the print head or you will need a splitter to allow you to use an external spool while the ams lite is still fully connected. I can make a video if you need it though.
