Bambu Lab Supertack Plate: Awesome with a Side of Trouble

Bambu Lab new SuperTack Build Plate has insane adhesion-maybe too much! Prints stick so well that they can be a struggle to remove, even with a scraper. While it helps eliminate warping and reduces energy costs by allowing lower bed temperatures, it also has some drawbacks-you can’t use TPU or silk PLA, and improper removal can damage both your prints and the plate itself. Plus, there’s an issue with build plate detection errors on certain printers. Is this the ultimate build surface or a hassle? Let’s find out!

this plate also works well with the new polymaker CoPE! it’s kinda my favorite plate now since I don’t have to put magigoo and don’t have to watch for the first layer to finish. It also sucks a bit because I also print a lot of ABS and obviously I have to use a smooth PEI plate to get a smooth bottom

I can confirm the great adhesion. But so far with 10+ prints with this plate, I haven't had to use the scraper. I mostly us Bambu and Overture PLA.

if the print is thick enough i can bend it off, but when its low profile i gotta use the scraper.

It's currently junk for an X1C. The machine can't read the QR code, and you have to turn build plate recognition off. Mine are gathering dust on a shelf. Spray IPA around the edges and give it a couple of minutes to pull under the print with capillary action, and prints will come off much easier.

It looks and sounds exactly like my experience with the plate on my printer. But mine is not a Bambu Lab, so like Apple, we must ignore what exist anywhere else.
