Bamiyan and the lakes of Band-e-Amir in Afghanistan 1975

On a roadtrip to Nepal in 1975 I had the chance to visit the Buddha statues of Bamiyan and the colorful lakes of Band-e-Amir in the Hindukush mountains of Afghanistan. It was a journey that you can't do today anymore. The Super 8 material is almost 50 years old and shows Afghanistan as it was before the Russians, Americans and Taliban came to this formerly beautiful country. The photos were taken by me with a simple camera and digitalized.
