I played JP Meta here. the main problem of garuru X is that you can draw half of your deck and OTK with from one rookie in breeding arena (+ yamato fixer or 1 training) and it just so splashable that i saw people use it on ulforce /beelstar/anything with purple or blue digi-egg. anubismon also quite problematic since it gains too many memory while setting big board with blockers, rush, retaliate, sometimes raids. for apokarimon, that deck is just straight broken with current engine (either eyesmon or garuru) the problem with the two above deck is the winning condition can be achived from 1 digimon in breeding arena.

Ive noticed this alot in the JP meta too. I think the biggest problem deck they have out right now is Apocalymon. And even though i do think Apocalymon needs to be hit, I know bandai is not going to hit an SEC that just came out. Most likely im guessing we are going to see a garurumon X hit because it provides too much benefit with its draw 2 trash 2 and memory gain, which is extremely unfortunate since the west hasnt even gotten the deck yet. We could also be finally seeing the eyesmon hit because it just gives purple handtrashing decks too much leverage. I personally dont see anything else currently getting hit considering the current meta but I am hoping its something else from a past meta that english players have already gotten to play with.

To hurt shine without hitting marcus you hit bt13 Rizegreymon (the deck should not have 8 copies of that all turns effect) and/or Bt13 geogreymon because getting a marcus out of security is a huge boost to consistency and the card is seeing play in non shinegreymon decks helping those decks be even more consistent. Could also hit Bt12 shinegreymon as that's really what enables the otk style of the deck giving marcus security + 1 (and basically jamming since it weakens security).

I never thought about the Training cards being a problem tbh, mostly because I haven't seen them in action enough. My biggest contenders for limiting are GaruruX and Marcus doh.

Shine is LITERALLY just fine, baffles me that people feel that it's a problem when the english results just DON'T show it. How can a deck like Melga run free, get countless top 3s to count in many regionals, and FINALLY get hit that many sets later? Shine definitely has the participation going for it all things considered, but the results at the English regionals? Definitely does not need a hit, but we all know Bandai isnt banning things based off of what's going on in the English format. Praying Shine doesn't get hit but I'm definitely a bit nervous because if they hit BT12 Marcus, deck is probably dead in the water which is a shame.

I say hit BT13 Geogreymon. Its a strong card that can be splashed into other yellow decks. Or bT13 Rize. Hitting BT12 Marcus would not only slow the deck down, but outright kill it.

Hit BT12 Shinegreymon. I play the deck and hate to see a hit but hitting Marcus will kill the deck. Beelzemon got hit but it can still accomplish its end strategy just slower. Hitting BT12 Shinegreymon will mean no more 6k dp sec +1 Marcus and no -DP to security so most likely the Marcus will die on sec check or to a blocker but at least it'll be playable and can't OTK as easily.

Still see people cry for Analog Man to get hit, because they lost once to a guy that high-rolled 2 in play from security early on. 🤣 I do look forward to faster decks getting slowed down to make way for Machinedramon supremacy! (Then they can hit something and make me sad)

Sheeesh, some people need to look at tournament results. Shine is fine. It's been a real deck for exactly 1 set, and has a pretty standard conversion rate. No need to hit it, much less murder it. It falls of in bt15 anyway. The real issue will be the purple decks that are dominating jp meta right now. Having your entire deck milled turn 3 is not a fun experience, trust me. That is an actual issue. BT13 is a healthy meta, you guys have no idea how good you have it.

I'm just gonna be honest, Shinegreymon is one of the most overhated meta decks thus far. It's strong, yes, but kill their stack and they legit can't do anything. bt12 Marcus is legit an underpowered card and doesn't need to be hit, the "problem" cards are bt13 geo, rize and 5 cost Marcus. I don't care if I get told I'm coping, Data Squad is my favorite season and Marcus Damon is my favorite character so I was legit dying to play a good deck based around him and Shine since the game first came out. I will accept whatever bandai does, but if bt12 if shine does get hit in a way that makes it unplayable I'll be calling it out as the mistake that it is.

Merva to 1. The anubis deck is insanely strong even without garuX. And merva let's you drop multiple bodies off anubis effect for like 1 memory.

This will be very interesting, mostly because most problem cards aren't out for us. From a business standpoint(which I'm used to because ygo) they wouldn't ban cards that drive sales for the set, so no cards that are just a few weeks old or not even out for the west. But if they just address problem cards that exist in both formats, they would maybe nerf shine, mirage and something greymon related. Which would ruin the game with whatever comes in BT14 and Loogamon could be running up front basically alone. On the flip side, they might do it. Restrict cards that are not even out. Many players did complained how many tier 1 decks get hit too early like xros heart back then. This might be an attempt to address that problem. Or maybe we get no changes besides SaviorHuck to unlimited, because they know that next set will invalidate any meta deck anyway. Powercreep goes pretty hard right now...

They have restricted cards that weren't out in English before. My guess is they're coming for Garurumon X and one dude out of left field because of a problem we don't even know is coming yet.

Yeah they've done it a couple times from memory, bt11 had just come out and like two weeks later Greymon-X got hit, and back in bt10 I believe the same thing happened with shoutmon X4, they really need to stop giving us the same banlist at the same time, only hurts they box profits and just doesn't give people in the west a chance to play stuff at full power, which kinda sucks

It's fairly obvious with the state of the meta in Jp; Purple is getting hit somehow. Purple is like 4/6 of the top decks right now. The question is what. I expect Eyesmon/GaruruX engine to get hit. Wouldn't surprised to see Agumon [Includeing Shine] get hit too, seeing as... well... those are the other 2 of the Top 6. As for the free evos; if it's restrictive it's generally fine; such as Izzy+Mimi only lets you go from 5->6; and you have to pull it off the top. Marcus gives you free evos while swinging at security; activateing like 50 effects; and/or DP-minusing something.

@@Shades14 I would guess because of Apocalymon. People swing with eyesmon set their trash up and than drop apocalymon. Since Apocalymon exist only a few weeks and bandai will not probably ban a card that is not out for NA. So we go down the List and ban the next best thing the mon that set it up

@@Shades14 it's too consistent to be able to draw discard on cheap early pressure. i also play in japan so idk if global had the chance to play with 4-4 eyesmon+scatter mode but it was an unbeatable engine

They should hit eyesmon. That'll smack down all the purple lists including apoc without needing to hit anything from the new sets, including garuru. Trainings should be limited. Marcus is the other big one. I'd say HPD but green already sad lol

9:27 HPD Does Not need to be banned. It helps green a lot considering green is the most lackluster of all the colors in NA's meta (this is coming from a green player)But having our best cards of our MAIN MECHANIC is fine, but If theyre banned why the hell play green? Green is fine and doesn't need to be changed in the meta by a banlist.

I agree With bt9 we got this "stay in raising area until you can OTK your Opponent" meta and i hated that. With champion from bt12 and rookies from bt14 we got more card that encourage promoting and i was very happy with that. Then training cards came in and brought us back to Bt9 tactics...

Training cards aren't the issue. If you hit training you're not actually fixing anything. Honestly you make decks like apocalymon worst because now youre slower so they have more time to setup. Hit the actual problems in the absurd decks instead of hitting the non problem cards.

Marcus doesn't just get HPD. it gets...HPD for the low cost of ATTACKING, a bunch of synergies with that, and also gets it every turn, and can stack it up to 4 times, sometimes being able to reuse it if you do something like burst mode.

Bt13 Geogrey, Bt13 Rizegreymon, perhaps bt12 Marcus, the cards potential in splashability of Geogrey, in combination of Messenger of Hope is excessive for tamer play out. The Rize and Marcus will limit the future strength of Shine. Garurumon X, it’s excessive in the same method that Greymon X (bt11), but to a more busted degree, hyper efficient draw and cycle but again just generic nonsense that shouldn’t of been printed and becomes the purple decks go to method of early deck building allowing upto 10 cards to cycle in a turn, it’s absolutely insane. Apoclymon just needs to be hit it’s excessive in strength and it’s relative ease to setup via either engine (Garuru typically or Eyesmon draw discard) and it’s toolbox nature for its effect slot in means that this is just the weakest this card is going to be. Needs to go to 0 asap. Anubis or Merva need to also be restricted on one side Anubis hit would be kinda feels bad in the short term, but they are likely going to print an effect that would just Re-break him if they go with the Merva hit instead, there’s just not a good way to go about it without hitting Anubis imo.

If you want to slow down Shine just hit BT12 Shinegreymon. Sec +1 6k Marcus with a reduce security DP is the reason why the deck can OTK. I play the deck and even tho I hate to see a hit, hitting Marcus would make the deck unplayable and not competitive. Hitting the BT12 Shine means all Marcus's would just be 3k bodies and would most likely die on sec check.

My issue is greymon x the non virus plus the black agu is like a 5 negate Omni delete. Then you add the new option card from the starter deck that says Digimon can't affect you for a turn is gross. Not to mention gaiomon going into itself swings to kill you but then go into blitz omni. Like they just sit there and build and then come out and you can't stop them. The only thing that stops them is speed or bloom. But yes ban the hell out of the garurumon deck. Cause it swings too much and has only one form of protection. From battles whooo so scary.

None of the things you mentioned are a problem people can`t deal with it with relative ease. That black option card does not even go on most lists. Sure, as a Garurumon player, Gaio and BWG X might be a bad matchup for you. Same way as I, a Jesmon Player, have a bad time dealing with Garurumon and it`s stupid speed and battle protection, but BWG X and Gaio matchups are a lot more manegeable. Also, be aware of what Ex5 blue/purple Garuru X is allowing other decks to do. It simply is too easy to abuse of that engine. Card is just too good for it`s own sake.

@@J4yDitto To be fair, there are many archetypes of greymon to be considered. Shine and Blue Flare are great, BWG X may be oppresive (but not without it's flaws) while pure red/black Wargrey is "high-mediocre" at beast (it's a big stick that can look scary, but many faster things properly deals with it. The deck is not weak by any means, but it's not that unbeatable force as well some people believe it is. Melga X has been a one-trick pony since bt9, and sure it got sent to the bench with promo were garuru hit, but it will get a ton of other support pretty soon. It will get purple as a new color to synergize with it's strategies, and the new blue stuff it gets in bt15 are also way more relevant than the red stuff wargrey got in bt14 (minus the rookies, in my opinion). Not even comparing their starter decks, black Wargreymon got generic black support that gives them pretty much nothing relevant (even if it looks good on paper, like those option cards), while purple MetalGaruru starts creating their new foundation (which is well-deserved for them imo). Even for generic purple things are better than for generic black. Garurumon is a fan favorite archetype that I believe will be meta relevant same way Greymon is. But there are tons of other Greymons archetypes out there, and only one or two for garurumon (that are now combined in blue/purple). I know it can be annoying, and I also suffered my fair share with BWG while seeing Alphamon ship sink even lower when comparing both decks for a year, but don't worry too much about the "Greymon Card Game". After all, some people say it will pretty soon be "Garurumon Card Game".

Belphemon isn’t one of the best decks of the format at all. The deck is so mid that only wins from the people playing against it just misplaying the whole time. As for the banlist I feel that we don’t need one. I know people are tired of shine but shine isn’t that bad. If you look at results it is the best deck but the format is diverse enough to not matter.

A Shine ban could be coming for 3 reasons: 1. It's above the power curve of the rest of the meta. Weird that they waited so long but we take those I guess. 2. Worlds is coming kinda soon and they don't want a repeat of 2022 with half the players playing one deck 3. Bandai really REALLY wants BT14 to sell well and doesn't want Shine getting in the way of that If it's not Shine then it's almost certainly some sort of hit to purple engines. Or just straight up banning HPD finally, who knows.

...how would that be a bad decision? I'm asking as a purple player who loves Beelzemon. That bicolor dog is is way too problematic for being both powerful and splashable. So you wouldn't be able to experience mill/dog decks at full power. Unfortunate, but if it helps with the current and future health of the game, then so be it. But again, I'm curious as to why you see limiting or banning the dog as be a terrible decision.

@@JDReC100 I didn’t say it would be a terrible decision. I said Bandai has been making terrible decisions. Two separate sentences. Personally, I’m against them banning/limiting cards until they have at least been in the format for a whole set, otherwise they shouldn’t even print the card to begin with. It’s honestly the worst part about being a few sets behind the ocg. They get to have fun a lot longer than we do. Now it does make our meta a little more diverse sometimes, but if they didn’t drop sets so quickly the meta could evolve more and they could limit cards in the middle of a set without pissing off everyone who invested in those decks. We could get the best of both worlds. But none of this matters because Bandai doesn’t care enough to give us enough official tournaments with useful prizing to keep players interested in the game. I don’t mind if Garu x gets hit, I would just like it to happen right before bt15.
