NEW PLOUGH! - 5 Furrow Dowdeswell DP7.2 with clod cutter

Try changing the Hydraulic Couplings for Proper New Holland fittings, had problems in the past with cheap couplings not allowing the plough to turn over.

I have got some better couplers lines up ready. I think I will make the difference for the clod cutter for sure. That keeps blowing the pipes out

Never seen a clod chopper. Many years ago i met the widow of the Original Mr Dowdswell. Have fun with it.

Hi Lewis As you can see from my profile picture we too run a 5 furrow Dowdswell plough with a Claydon furrow cracker. Ive got to say when we first got the furrow cracker i was apprehensive, but for us it turned out to be absolutely great. We no longer need to power harrow unless the headlands are baked. It also gives you great guidance to see if your plough is running level and parallel to the ground. Im sure you will love it eventually 👍

Got a DP7b wouldn't turn over, changed the main turn over shaft and bushe's, worked fine after. With the worn shaft the turn over ram was snapping the pin at the top of the headstock as it's not supported both side's, was able to buy a kit called a bridge link, which when welded on supported the pin both side's. When you tried to turn the plough over at the end of the vid, that looked like a valve problem. My plough would turn some time's and other times get stuck half way causing the ram pin to snap, check the main shaft for wear, but it look's like a hydraulic problem as the plough doe's not attempt to turn over.

I've had the block apart since this video. The pressure adjuster screw is snapped so I will be getting that changed. Currently with that screw removed it will turn over is I flip the lever for the spool as I get half way round. I will have it sorted soon

I’m sure you are aware, but AgriHire at Claydon Ipswich bought the Dowdswell ploughs and now make them under another name, I’m sure they would assist if your stuck.

On top of the rocker cover for the engine on the TM you will see it says 168hp and that even without the intercooler that some had,, and to be honest it's probably way way more that the quoted power of 168, I would say maybe even close to 200, so 170+ on the shaft

They are incredibly powerful for such a light footprint. I'm really pleased with the tractor. A very good tractor!

@@NorfolkFords yep they are brilliant, they would still sell brand new if they were made today, the genesis engine was bomb proof,, just keep and eye on the water pump bearing as when it fails normally the fan falls in to the radiator
