They had a great rebellious streak when they were around, especially in the early eighties. Didn't care what they looked like, no choreography etc and were quite happy going out getting pissed every night. That's how they liked their videos believe it or not. I have quite a lot of their stuff from back then. This was a massive hit in America for them too. Thank you, as ever for reviewing.

Not outdated at all.Still sounds as fresh as ever.Like a fresh mint chewing gum to start your day that's always tasty and there when you need it!The keyboard riff and the synth bass sound, is a killer.Classic!

Venus was another one of their hits, it's a cover of an iconic song from 1969 by Shocking Blue, a female led Dutch rock band.

"Is it outdated?" Oh please. Might as well ask if Queen or ACDC are still relevant. But then if you grew up dancing to the spice girls it makes sense.

Little info They formed in 1980 Keren Woodward & Sara Dallin are childhood friends and are the only two girls to have been in the band from the start Siobhan Fahey was a member from 1980 to 1988, she joined Keren and Sara for a one off music video... cover of ABBA's 1974 Eurovision winning hit Waterloo, she briefly rejoined in 2002 for a one-off performance before rejoining the group for The Original Line-Up Tour between 2017 and 2018. The Irish beauty's last performance was at the BRIT's 1988. She later went on to form Shakespears Sister in 1989 first a solo artist then as duo with Marcella Detroit. Shakespears Sister reunited in 2019 Jacquie O'Sullivan replaced Siobhan in early 1988 and remained with band until 1991 The girls have been featured in three charity singles... Do They Know It's Christmas in 1984 Sara, Siobhan and Keren), Let It Be in 1987 (Sara and Keren) and Do They Know It's Christmas in 1989 (Sara, Jacquie and Keren). They also covered Help! for Comic Relief 1989 (featuring Lananeeneenoonoo)

If you like this, you should listen to/react to more of their early 80's stuff...Shy Boy, Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye, Really Saying Something, and the Fun Boy 3 duet of It Ain't What You Do (That one has a GREAT lo-fi vibe). They started working with Stock Aitken Waterman in the mid-80's for "Venus", a shift toward slick disco that changed their sound and vibe thereafter, but those first few years were ramshackle girl-next-door 80's fun time material.

You should check out “Stay” by Shakespears Sister which was a duo whom featured Siobhan Fahey after she left Bananarama. It is the polar opposite of anything Bananarama ever done.
