El viernes, 24 de mayo, tuvo lugar en el Auditorio Azul de la Fundación Juan March de Madrid una conferencia a cargo de Howard Marks, Socio Fundador de Oaktree Capital Management, considerado como uno de los inversores más relevantes y dinámicos de nuestro tiempo.
El Sr. Marks incidió en la importancia de diferenciar entre comprar bien y no solo bueno, conocer bien a las empresas e industrias en las que se invierte, no intentar predecir el futuro a corto plazo y tener muy claros los riesgos que asumimos en las carteras.

i really like Howard's practical approach, down to earth logic and decision making. But I want to know how he is picking his stocks, specifically. Does he invest in FAANG? he knows that all you need to do is pick one good stock, the next apple, and ride that through as much of its exponential growth phase as possible. so how do you pick the next apple? is it not blatantly obvious to everyone which stocks are the next apple? or do we have delusions or illusions about these super stocks as he called them?

Quite the opposite.... To know how to time the market, would imply that you can predict the future. Marks literally said people don't. Hence why he emphasizes on reading sentiment and productivity to guage the current position of the cycle.
