Hello BAND-MAID peeps! Could you give me a chronological order in which to react to the band's songs? I don't want to research the band beyond the comments on my channel cause I wanna keep things as real as possible. Thanks! 🙏

We prefer Maidiacs! 😝 They have a ton of subgenres that they play; just about every combination of rock, punk, pop, and metal and there's a unique song for it. If you want more pop-punk, I suggest Choose Me Official MV and lookup "BAND MAID "Don't you tell ME" ZEPP TOKYO 13 Apr. 2018." If you want something heavier, I suggest HATE? official live video or Play official live video or Domination official live video (not the MV). If you want something a bit more bonkers, I'd suggest Unleash official live video or lookup "BAND-MAID / Moratorium (Live at Zepp Tokyo)." Moratorium's my favorite. With the Maids, your favorite song will be the last one you heard; they never cease to amaze. If you want to start from the beginning, the song that saved the band, go with Thrill official music video.

The thing about Band Maid is that you can’t hear one song and think you have any idea about them, or their music. There’s a decent chance the next song you listen to will be completely different from the first. They are extremely diverse genre-wise and, more recently, diverse even within a single song. That’s why most of us maidiacs say that their genre is “Band Maid”.

Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. They don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog mayhem to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They can make you headbang, they can make you pogo, they can make you cry like a baby. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 12th year with the original line up. And they are the best live band I have ever witnessed! Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. Her idea is a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see (cute maids) is NOT what you get (Hard Rock/Punk/Metal). They take the maid café concept literally. They call their concerts "servings" and their fans "Masters and Princesses". Oh, and Miku is an 810 year old small pigeon. Welcome to the pigeon hole Po!

​@JopoLoco what impresses me about this band is their commitment to their craft (always improving, pushing to gain control over their production, writing their own music, blending genres), to their fellow band members (it's the original members, still on talking terms, still enjoying being with each other, wanting the others to reach their full potential), and to their fans (they write songs in appreciation, making videos of mock concerts during the pandemic for their fans stuck at home, they don't go crazy on blocking reviewers and even will spot them at concerts and give them shout outs, they give 3 hour concerts with 20+ songs and lengthy interactions with the crowd to make everyone feel part of the event---in maid café tradition their audience are princess and masters, their songs are servings, and those servings need to be blessed with a magic spell to make them more enjoyable). Their live performances are must watch videos, but you would be missing out if you don't watch the special things they can do in the MVs (joint performances with groups like the Warning, special acoustic performances, integrated live and anime characters, transformation into Geisha apprentices to blend traditional Japanese music with rock music). They are a joy to watch and listen to as much as anyone I have known in my 7 decades of listening to a broad variety of music.

The farther we get away from that time the more clearly we see the immensity of his talent. Few would argue with the above assessment. And a thing about the maid outfits, Jopo: as Fans and Maidiacs know, Miku -- the 2nd guitarist, lyricist, founder and who worked at a maid cafe -- wanted to show that everyday working "Kawaii" girls dressed as maids in high heels while having fun and smiling could rock as hard as any guy band sweating it up in their hip, poor tortured artists "outfits"... and by showing that contrast (the Gap), it would generate interest, which it so successfully has done! You might want to jump to a recent official release of songs that they didn't get to perform during their 10th Anniversary tour--what is referred to as the spin-off concerts. One song, "Honkai" , starts with just the bassist and drummer exchanging for almost two minutes. Their importance to the Band Maid sound isn't so obvious in the video you just reviewed.

i appreciate the fact that you find the MAIDS a likeable and talented band. but 4 pauses just in kanami's lead solo ? you definitely need to work on the pauses as it really messes with the flow of the song.

@@thedocofrock1890 yeah, I have a problem with stepping over people's lines in real life too so I get that & yes, it bothered me while editing it.... On the other hand: When something comes to mind, I need to get it out or else I'll forget it. @@JopoLoco please don't get the wrong impression - it's more along the line of constructive criticism as opposed to bitching. i understand about getting your thoughts in before forgetting what you were going to say - and also taking pauses to avoid copyright strikes and the reason i watch reactions IS to get the reactor's opinion. only the solos should go uninterrupted imo and i think that you will find that sentiment from most of those watching. other than that pausing is fine.

I don't think reactors have much copyright issues with Band-maid & I don't usually worry about that when recording a reaction. Only copyright problems I've had is with Linkin Park.

You don't like "stupid simple shit," what you like is "super catchy shit" where you can easily find a melody to latch on to and even sing or hum along to and that's what the maids do in spades. A lot of music that's super catchy is stupid simple because that's the easiest way to make something super catchy without messing it up. The Maids make increasingly intricate and complex stuff that is still super catchy with a very easy to follow melody; it's much much harder to pull off, but makes it extra special when they do and fortunately, that's what the Maids do best.
